Yea, pretty frustrating. I emailed them to ask what we should do, so now more waiting... I hope the VFS office is wrong. What's really annoying is they already approved the TRV - it's very clearly there in MyCIC - and they knew exactly when we were going to Canada. This has been planned for months.

So my wife went to the VFS here in Singapore at 8AM to submit her passport. She asked what the chances were of getting it back before our flight on the 9th. The employee said: go RIGHT NOW and print copies of your airline ticket, write a letter, and print your itinerary, and come back...

Thanks! Yea, ticket is part of it but I also booked hotels, car rental, arranged for a few weeks off work, made plans to do things with friends and family... yeesh. Plus I really wanted my wife to visit at Christmas so she could finally meet my family when everybody has time off together. So I...

Thanks :) It's a double-edged sword for me though. My wife was approved for a TRV and we booked flights for early December (Xmas holiday) thinking there was no way we'd have PPR by now. I think I'm the only one on here that actually wanted it delayed at least until we got back from holiday :(...

Went there this morning: they do not accept any drop offs. I need to mail or courier it. >:(

From what I'm reading you can send it to either address but generally the street address is for courier, and the mailing address (P.O. Box) is for regular mail. So you are ok :) Since I'm in Singapore, I wonder if I can just bring it there myself in-person. ::)

Last week we received a request from SVO to obtain a Certificate of Clearance from Singapore Police Force. We obtained the document from SPF today, and will now courier it to SVO in the morning. Any idea how much time after receiving this we can expect DM or PPR? Fingers still crossed for a...

Got accepted in 4 months - a useful tip

Like others are saying, it depends on the visa office and the applicant's situation. Saying "Hey guys! I got approved in 4 months, you're all doing it wrong!" is silly. There may not be a need to send 1000 photos, but I also do not see why it would hurt one's application. It's not like the visa...

Linking MyCIC account to PR application

Thank you!!! We've been trying for weeks to link our application. Following these steps it worked instantly. :)

    Visitor visa GRANTED!(Wife of PR)

It's not necessary (we didn't book one), but you need to provide solid proof that the applicant will return and not overstay. If the applicant doesn't have enough ties to their home/resident country (e.g. proof of employment, property, assets), a return ticket at least demonstrates intent to return.

    Visitor visa GRANTED!(Wife of PR)

Online application. It took ~2 weeks to get approval and 3 days to get the passport back with visa. Some factors that I think made it smooth for us: - We provided proof of my wife's travel history - We provided proof she is university educated - We provided proof she is currently working and...

    Visitor visa GRANTED!(Wife of PR)

My wife just got back her passport with TRV today. Multiple entry, valid until her passport expires (5 years). We didn't purchase a return ticket beforehand, but provided bank statements from both of us for past 3 months, and proof that my wife and I are both working abroad. FWIW her PR...

Is it possible to delay Landing or... get this... ask CIC to take longer?

Thanks for the replies. I've thought about just landing and getting the PR and coming back here, but what if when landing my wife falls under "Condition 51" (we were married less than 2 years when we applied)? Wouldn't going back to Singapore for some time be considered breaching condition 51...
