Is it possible to delay Landing or... get this... ask CIC to take longer?

My wife and I both live in Singapore and applied for PR at the beginning of the year. We had hoped by now to already have a decision made, but no luck. Unfortunately, the other aspects of our life do not revolve around CIC's uncertainty, so we've had to: 1) renew our employment contracts here...

In ecas it now says "Decision Made" on the Sponsorship side, but there are no new entries when clicking it. Already knew I was approved via GCMS notes, so no big surprise here. In other news, we applied for a TRV visa in parallel (wife and I both live in Singapore) and got a passport request...

Option C - haven't filed taxes for 2 years what can I do??

I haven't filed for nearly 10 years and was approved as a sponsor without Option C. I wouldn't worry about it.

PR application in progress... can apply for visitor visa?

Just an update here: last night we received instructions to mail in my wife's passport to SVO for the TRV, so I'm guessing it's approved? If so WOW it only took just over 2 weeks. If only the PR application were this quick ;D

I didn't even know there were third-party services doing this. The process is really quick and it's only $5. This Youtube tutorial is a bit outdated, but it hasn't changed much: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_E_dq_uLVo Seriously - save your money.

Welp, looks like no chance my wife's PR application will be approved in time for the holidays and I really want to visit my family with my wife over Christmas so we just applied for a visitor visa. I've heard there is a high rate of rejection for this when the applicant has a PR application in...

PR application in progress... can apply for visitor visa?

Thanks for the replies all. I think we want to give it a shot. For those that applied, a question about medical: do we need to do another medical to apply for TRV or can we just mention the medical that was sent with the PR application (which GCMS notes say was passed)? I ask because we sent...

Got an email yesterday from CIC with my SA, even though we already received AOR2 months ago. Better late than never I guess, but this process is really draining. One question: seems many on here have to re-do the medical because CIC takes too long and it expires. In that case, when the visa...

PR application in progress... can apply for visitor visa?

I live with my wife (Vietnamese national) abroad in Singapore. We sent our PR package in March and have received SA, AOR2, and it's "In Process" for both of us in ECAS. The issue is I really want to visit my family for Christmas with my wife. We had hoped the PR application would be approved...

All the best to you too! And I agree: $5 is a small price to pay for at least a tiny glimpse into what's going on. Also, it was definitely worth the peace of mind because these notes confirmed I have SA, and that my wife's medical is done and passed. Both we were 99% were sure of anyway, but...

Received GCMS Notes today. Mostly a bunch of "Not Started" statuses, but I did see confirmation of medical passed and SA. I had never received an SA email/letter, so this is a bit of a relief. Not sure if I should request notes again now or wait a bit...

Unable to process GCMS request: consent required?

Oops... spoke too soon and skimmed too quickly. They do mention it in the email. Sorry all, please disregard :-[

Unable to process GCMS request: consent required?

I requested GCMS notes a couple of weeks back, and just received the following email: No problem, but they don't mention to what address (physical or email) this needs to be sent to though. Do I need to send a physical copy or can a photo/electronic version be uploaded? Would a fax be ok? :D

MARCH 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I'm in the same boat here with similar dates. I still haven't received any SA email or letter, but I keep reading on here that because both sides are "In process" that must mean I have SA. Still would be much more reassuring to actually get their confirmation on this or a status change on ECAS...

MARCH 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

No status change for me this week: Sponsorship We received your application to sponsor <MY WIFE> on March 8, 2016. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on April 2, 2016. We started processing your application on April 1, 2016. PR We received <MY WIFE's>...

Thanks for the reply! My other concern is would there be any issues in exiting Canada without the PR card?

    Question about PR and Landing

My wife and I both live and work abroad. Since we only have a vague idea when (if?) her PR will be granted, it is very difficult to adequately plan for the move back to Canada. If what I've read is correct, we'll have a ridiculously short window to: - Give notice to our current employers - Find...

MARCH 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Today I logged in to ECAS and noticed my wife (PR applicant) had this status added: We started processing <NAME> application on April 25, 2016. I received AOR on April 2nd, but according to ECAS my SA is still "In Process". Is it normal for the PR application to be in process before SA...

If you received a UCI # and Application #, then yes I believe this is your AOR. I finally received my AOR today too and CIC received my application on March 8th ;D
