OK Bobby B - so we know we don't have to show proof of funds. But the Visa Office Specific Instructions does not seem to recognize this...
(1) Schedule C asks how much you have. How do you respond? (A) tell them how much you have, or (B) Not applicable? (We know that leaving it blank is not...
Good question! I haven't submitted yet, so I'll be interested in what others have done.
First of all, don't misrepresent! I wrote what I have (approx. CAD 5,000). But on the DOCUMENT CHECKLIST (for Buffalo), for Item 11, I wrote in "Not applicable."
I asked about the bank and where you're located because some banks have partner institutions... No RBC in Nevada tho. Wells Fargo appears to be about the worst, both in terms of fees and processing times. If you needed an excuse to change banks ...
Sorry to ask, but did you submit the completion of degree letter with your application? The original copy?
Do you have other documentation that you can submit? (e.g. certified copy of diploma, official final transcript indicating degree completion)?
As for what you have to do, the letter...
I recommend you read and follow CIC directions. State police clearances (as well as FBI) are required with the full application to Buffalo. An incomplete application will delay matters, at best ...

Hi Daze,
If he is a legal resident of Canada, he may be able to apply as a skilled worker. If he has been legally working in Canada for 2 or more years, the Canadian Experience class is faster than the skilled worker class.
I don't know for sure, but think if you withdraw the case you may...
Strange, that this info is not provided in the Buffalo guide.
I have had the same problem trying to find out this information. In my case, I was an independent consultant for 4 years in the USA - no "company".
I just worked on this today, so - feedback, anyone?
I wrote my own reference...
Agreed, it's confusing. I think the "Note" overrides the other instructions regarding the original passport. Submit only a photocopy of the passport with the application, they will call you later for the original passport. I think you still need to submit the Proof of Status and Proof of...
Perhaps it's not enough if you just say there's no tax return for your country - provide EVIDENCE. Is this documented in your country's code of laws? If there are no public documents that state this, request a letter from your Embassy, or some official in your country that supports your statement.
Coolboy, All the info you need is on the Consulate website, http://www.cgisf.org/.
Click on Consular Services
Click on Miscellaneous
Look under certificates section. The requirements differ depending on whether you got your current passport from the Consulate in SF, or elsewhere. Click on...
Hi wsj78,
PMM has posted the relevant link above. Please go to that page and READ the instructions for EACH STATE that you lived in for at least 6 months.
- Each state is different.
- You do not send ANY PCC requests to a police station, you have to apply from the state. The only reason...
Amoroso, I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you currently in the USA? A local police clearance will NOT substitute for the FBI clearance, does not matter if it is "nationwide." You get the fingerprints done at the local agency, and send the prints and required form & payment to the...
Wording is: " "Additional documents" and photos are not required at this time."
Also says submit only those documents requested by the checklist. Photos are not requested by the checklist.
Photos are not required for application to CIO. Mine was accepted, no photos.
Yes, I would advise starting now, but ... also note that you need PCCs for each US State you lived in (at least 6 months). That makes it even more complicated and time-consuming...
Nope, sorry, no experience with those states. But there are others on this forum that have posted about these states (I specifically recall NY and VT) so do a search -
Another just reported about Ohio - even tho their website said NOT to use the FBI card for the State PCC, after he called...
Another perspective - If you CAN clear your debts before coming, you should consider doing so.
(1) Peace of mind, no loose ends, new beginning, etc.
(2) It costs money to transfer funds between countries (increases total amount of debt)
(3) Currencies fluctuate. Sometimes in your favor...
Shabegger, the "confusion" stems from the recent change in rules, and I think there are some webpages that have not yet been updated... Now you MUST have PCCs from each State. (I'm told this is because the FBI does not have legal access to State databases, altho states can access the FBI's...)...
