Hi All,

Does anybody have obtained a POLICE Clearance in USA.
I'm just confused coz based on the website we need to follow some steps;

You should:

•get a cover letter and fingerprint card from the FBI. You can download these from the FBI website in the Related Links section at the bottom of the page or write to the address below and have them mailed to you.
•have fingerprints taken. You can have this done by:
◦a local police department or
◦a private fingerprinting business.
(When you have your fingerprints taken, you will need photo identification.)

but I checked with the local police they told me that the police clearance result is nationwide and I just need to show them the request form from the requesting party.

Please I need some advice.

Thanks in advance.

There is no need of any request form .go to the the local police center ,Just show them the immigration checklist and that you required it for immigration purpose. i got it done and they charge a fees of $5 to get the fingerprints .

Thanks for the reply, appreciate you. Did the canadian immigration accepted it? Anyway, I will try it too.

Amoroso, I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you currently in the USA? A local police clearance will NOT substitute for the FBI clearance, does not matter if it is "nationwide." You get the fingerprints done at the local agency, and send the prints and required form & payment to the FBI, per the instructions. A US police officer does NOT speak for Canada Immigration...

Note that you also need a PCC for each State in the US that you have lived in...
