I wanted to check with the members on the forum whether we still need individual state police verifications or we need only one FBI verification for non US citizens residing in USA under H1b for the Skilled worker program.
I have already received the FBI verification, do they just return your finger prints with a seal on the rear that says 'no arrests on record' and a letter indicating results on the rear?

Thanks for sharing your insight.

My suggestion would be to wait for CIC to request the PCC and then do the verification for the individual states as that would be the latest, anyways you get the results within 3-4 weeks max, anyways leave it to the individuals discretion. But yes you do need the FBI done & PCC from all states you have lived more than 6 months.

Thanks Max.

So you recommend that apply with FBI verification and submit police verification if it comes up later?

Exactly!!!!!!!!!!

Do both PCC and FBI

PCC for all states where you have stayed more than 6 months...
Do take chances.. It will set uoi back by 1 to 3 months

I recommend you read and follow CIC directions. State police clearances (as well as FBI) are required with the full application to Buffalo. An incomplete application will delay matters, at best ...

Do I need to provide a police certificate when applying for permanent residence?

Yes. Applicants should provide a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) certificate with fingerprints, and State certificates from all U.S. states where they have resided for a period of 6 months or more since turning age 18.
