PF, Shares etc are definitely accepted when the initial application is sent. In fact some VO also accept property docs. However, if the immigration officer asks for it when you land, the only liquid cash in form of Account balance, Travellers cheque etc are accepted.

The appropriate time is 'ASAP'. Raise a query with your concerned VO and they will guide you fromm there. Any change to your circumstances should immediately be comminicated to them.

Sometimes, VO may ask for additinal docs when they send out MR. He might have served in military and thats why he has been asked for the booklet.

Just for me. Some 270€ for doc and some 20 odd for lab tests. My wife is visiting her parents in India and will get it done at a reputed hospital in Mumbai. She will be paying equivalent of some 50€ there.. lol.
