Yes, Mark's is really good. Though, me being the bad Canadian, I prefer to stay indoors, with fuzzy/fleece pj's and a hoodie with some hot chocolate :P

LOL @ parker24
Are you planning to hibernate for the winter?

I've never been to places in Canada during winter except for Vancouver.. so this might not be a good judgement on my part. But one product I highly recommend are the Merrell's jungle mocs. I wore them for the past couple of years - whether during summer or winter, they work well all seasons. When it snows, I just need to wear my regular socks, and I'm just fine. I used to do sales where I had to stand 8 hours straight in a row (with a 30 minutes lunch break in between), and I've never experienced any sore feet on them. My first pair is all worn out now, and I'm going to get myself a 2nd pair for sure! Love my Merrells!

I have two snow boots for the winter. One pair of Sorels that I love because the inner liner can come out which is nice for if I need to dry them out in case snow gets in them. They are also rated for -40 C and I got them on sale at Mark's. The other pair are Ridge combat boots which are really dry even in deep snow. I took those with me when my boyfriend and I went to cut down our tree last week. We were in the woods in really deep snow and they kept my feet warm and dry. To me that's all that matters though, having dry feet. I agree you can't do anything about the cold once it gets too cold, but having dry clothing is a godsend.

Learning to layer is very important too.

Check around different clinics. I've been to different clinics when I first got here - some charged me $100 too, but there were others that charged me $50 (except I had to pay in cash).

It is, but with me not working right now. I only go outside if I absolutely have to. I like looking at the snow fall from the inside of my warm apartment.

I'm learning that too. Last time I wore a jacket and when we got into the mall, it was a little cold to take off my jacket. I was all bundled up indoors and my hubby kept telling me "you know you can take off your jacket now" but I was embarrassed I was only wearing a thin t shirt under my warm jacket ::) by the time we got out outside to my car I was really warm so at least I enjoyed the cold breeze for a mili second!

I make it a point to go for a short walk after lunch, especially during winter. I enjoy the occasional staking at Nathan Phillips Sq (Toronto). Mind you, I am a terrible skater. Last winter I fell down face first and got a cut just above my eyes. It was very difficult explaining this to the doctors who were convinced that my explanations were just a lame excuse for hiding a sucker punch.

Going to the mall at this time of year is the worst. With all the Christmas shoppers and then having to bundle up like the Michelin man to stay warm outside.

Haha, well I braved the winter and snow today and walked to the post office. I also took your advice and layered some clothing on. But I think I'll stick to taking in the winter from the safety of my apartment. It's just warmer and better that way.

Grab some President's Choice candy cane Oreo-style cookies and you'll be happy til spring!! I'm so upset that I didn't know about them last year!!
