I agree with Canooknic, better to have a pair or two kicking around than not. I wore them when I was young but being Canadian I have developed a pretty thick skin to the cold. I think you will appreciate them when the -30's and lower hitlunas said:Haha That's funny. My husband wants to buy me long underwear and I'm a girl and I say:" What? I'm not wearing long underwear under my jeans, no no no"
but he insists, and I'm just visiting a week or two at a time.
Do you girls wear another set of pants/long underwear under your pants/jeans? :-X If you do, I'll consider it lol
ok. I agree with you. I'll let my husband get me a pair of those as he's been "threatening" to get me a pair every time I visit. So far, he's got me a pair of thick socks (I could walk the moon with them).dair2dv8103100 said:I agree with Canooknic, better to have a pair or two kicking around than not. Your Houston boss said that?! I guess they were expecting the bayou to flood. I live just north of Houston and hate the lack of proper drainage....and deer.achander said:I lived in Houston, TX before i moved to Canada. This one time in 2009, i was at work and it started pouring (i mean rain). It started at around 10am...by the time it was 11.30am, my boss told me i am free to go home.
I was like, what do you mean? he said I don't want you to have trouble getting home. I said, what do you mean? He said Look outside..Lol....that was the best moment ever (especially since i moved to Houston from Indianapolis where it snows like a mother).
Yes he did, and it made me so happy...cos i got to go home at 11.30am lol...Hey, you remember last year when the highways froze over for like a day or something (maybe it was just a few hrs) I remember reading online about 600+ accidents or so. It was sometime in February 2011. Search the net, and you will def find somethingtinytortoise said:Your Houston boss said that?! I guess they were expecting the bayou to flood. Once it gets past -20, it doesn't matter what you're wearing. It's going to be cold.........waiting110 said:and ofcourse I wear 2 thick socks and my winter boots .. but I think I wasted $120 at marks, the boots arent tht warm unless you wear 2 thick socks and I also have 2 winter underwear that i wear under my jeans..
No I think wearing lots of layers help.amikety said:Once it gets past -20, it doesn't matter what you're wearing. It's going to be cold.........
I came via Atlanta and don't have a use for long underwear, even at -40. I get so cold, it hurts, but it's all temporary.
Also, if you paid $120 at Mark's, you got ripped off. Those same boots will be on sale for $80 on and off
That's nothing. I spend 200 bucks on a NorthFace pair of boots :'( They aren't that warm as I thought.waiting110 said:No I think wearing lots of layers help.
Thats what my sister said but I needed boots really bad. and I thought if m spending $120 they will keep me warm but sadly they arent warm .. oh well but they work with 2 thick socks
At a certain point, it doesn't matter what you wear. It will be cold regardless.waiting110 said:No I think wearing lots of layers help.
