Hey, that's a good idea. Making a list of Canadian brands or products that won't make a hole in our pockets and really work.waiting110 said:See,
No matter how they claim its warm, the fact is, its not. Just over spending from our side to keep ourselves cozy.
But honestly if anybody knows about good products please let me. Price doesn't matter as long as the quality is good.
What'st eh brand? Do they carry their own brand?Canooknic said:I bought a pair from Canadian Tire for $40 and they are way warmer than my $200 Columbia ones!!
They are 'Kamik'. I only bought them because I was out with friend's and we dcided to go to Elk Island but I didn't have boots so I just bought the first pair I found. I just checked their website and they have some equally as ugly as mine for $79.99, I would expect they will be on sale soon though because I haven't seen them in their weekly flyer yet!lunas said:What'st eh brand? We were very disappointed with last year's snow too!! We had a big ski-doo day planned for Boxing Day and ended up staying home eating too much instead!! Better luck this year!aerogurl87 said:My first winter in cold Alberta was last year and I was disappointed. There was more slush than snow. This year there is a ton of snow though, which is nice since I know I'm going to get my first real white christmas.

We got married in Alberta in December last year. There was NO snow. We're making up for snow this year!aerogurl87 said:My first winter in cold Alberta was last year and I was disappointed. Mark's Work Warehouse has really good winter wear, including lined winter jeans! They look so warm and cozy! I'm pretty sure that my husband would NEVER let me hear the end of it. They always have good sales too.lunas said:I love it!
Good tips indeed. Keep 'em coming! hehe
Yes, Mark's is really good. Though, me being the bad Canadian, I prefer to stay indoors, with fuzzy/fleece pj's and a hoodie with some hot chocolatePigey said:Mark's Work Warehouse has really good winter wear, including lined winter jeans! The other place I've seen good winter wear is Peavey Mart. They are in Alberta and Saskatchewan. It's more like cowboy/work wear, but they have some stylish things too.
When in doubt... a Cowichan sweater is a good warm choice, and oh so Canadian!
