The day start from the day you land as PR. Any days prior to PR landing can count as half days towards citizenship qualification under the old rule.aries9811 said:BTW when does the days counter start, The day you receive PR in Mail or The day you land ? Usually the PR expiry date is close to the Date you receive it in mail. Any Idea ?
I think you would lose that year towards you haven't accumulated enough required days per year minimum. Or you may have to wait another 7 months to pass the 7 month missing. Assuming the 7 month missing falls off the 4 year Radar.aries9811 said:what about you were away for 7 months in 2012 and New Rule starts 2016..
Person was thinking of adjusting those days...as per Old Rule..
What happens..?
Yes. Everyone must pass the english / french test and pass citizenship test between 18 and 54 group. If the person is outside the age group, language / citizenship test is not required. Under the new rule, the age group increased to 14 -64.aries9811 said:thats crazy..!
Another Q..
Does future spouse needs to Give English Test ?
No language test is required to renew PR card or for PR sponsorship. However spouse may require a translator at time of landing as PR to understand instructions and obligation of being PR and sign COPR on landing.aries9811 said:I mean for PR Card, does the future spouse needs to Give English Test ?
Yes this sucks - currently under the old rule - if i don't travel to go anywhere - i qualify to apply on Aug 01 2015 - this is including time spent before getting pr. When new rule comes into fact - it means i will only qualify in 2017. Because they will only count time spent as a pr. i landed in June 2013screech339 said:The day start from the day you land as PR. Once the new rule kick in, no prior days before PR will count. Only days as PR will count toward citizenship qualification.
It's the 3 / 4 rule. Not 3 / 5. If you think they will revise it before the new rule go into effect, you're dreaming. If there are to be any revision it had to be made before it receives royal ascent.aries9811 said:I believe, they will definitely revise..As no one had been dreaming...about the No of Visits everyone made (as per 3/5 rule to adjust 1095 days) ..thts even before this Bill C-24 Came In. And Everyone was following 3/5 Rule.
So if New Rule applies to Everyone its like every one got fooled..?? for no reason.. all of Sudden.
