Im confused..If we are requesting everything online..What this TBC form gotta do it ?? :| Does it have to mailed out separately to CBSA ?

I filled the TBC so that CBSA can see my wife's signature for it. Once I got that signed, I scanned it in the photocopy as Pdf file. I took pictures of the passport, pr card and driver licence. Coverted them to pdf file format too. Once I got the pdf files ready, I submitted the ATIP online to CBSA. At the end, they will ask for documents to make things easier for them to do their work to find the information I wanted. This is where the pdf files come in. I uploaded the pdf files. After you upload the files it will want you to review the request file once more before submitting it. Once it is submit it, you pretty much have to wait for record to come in the mail. Contact them if records didn't come after 35 days. If you do contact them before the deadline, it may delay the timing to receive the records.

It is optional to send any documents but I want to make everything easy for CBSA and legit. I could have taken the IDs and request her personal information without her knowledge, pretending to be her requesting the records. So you see how easy it can be done. My point was to make it easy and legit to a CBSA agent reading this ATIP request from that person point of view. I didn't want to take any chance to give them excuse or delay the request all because I didn't give enough docs supporting my request.

Ah, gotcha..!!

I want to send it just for my own records...! I will send it later next week !!

But as such I have atleast a year & half to apply for Citizenship..(don't know which rule yet).

Can you also tell

what I should write
for "Federal Govt Institution"
and "Provide details regarding the information being sought?" ..

It looks like they will not announce the implementation date this year.

Maybe it is realistic to expect the announcement of the official date at springtime next year.

In my case, I wrote:

Travel records at port of entry toronto Pearson international: from date to date

Name: xxxxx xxxxx
Passport number: xxxxxxx
Country of issue: xxxxxxxx
PR status since xxxxxxxxx

That was all I gave.

Right now, I just got a flight certificate from airline that stated that my wife had in fact traveled on the dates in her itinerary.

That's a good idea!

Few quick questions:
-- how do you request this certificate? who are you calling/mailing asking for it?
-- do you contact the regional office? or the main HQ for this?
-- does it have name? or only a "certificate confirming that I was on board"
-- how much time did it take until you received that certificate?

I am only doing this now so that I like her to avoid getting a RQ.

Can you please tell me what can we/you include within the application, to avoid having RQ?
or at least decrease the chances of getting it?

It looks like a trend now, that lots of applicants are getting RQs...
or may be those who get it come here to complain... while those who don't just keep silent and keep their fingers crossed

In my case my wife used Alitalia airline. I send an email to customer service asking them to send me a verification that my wife was in fact on the plane. I explain to them that Canada doesn't have exit control and that her country didn't put an entry stamp in her passport.

They replied a couple of days later asking for eticket number if know, dates and passport used.

I sent them the documents asked. A week later they returned an pdf certificate signed letter saying that she used the flights. Didn't cost me anything.

One of the RQ trigger is that she is a stay at home mom so she doesn't have t4 verifying she was in fact in Canada working at this time. So I decided to provide up front proof with the application so that she doesn't get RQ or at least reduce the chance of getting it.
