Hey guys,

Following this thread, I also applied for tourist visa of my wife with her immigration application is in progress and we got 1 year multiple entry.

My wife is a housewife and still she got it. I would recommend everyone here to give it a shot. Apparently, it is a pretty quick process too. We got ours in 4 business days.

Anyone in this forum, who is already in Canada as a Visitor, can you please tell me if there are any documents required at the point of entry? besides return ticket of course.

Thanks.

Hello! I have a question regarding the trv of your wife. housewife here planning to apply for trv. I'm worried that i can't provide letters from employment/ work, may i ask what are the proof of means you submitted/ your wife submitted for the trv application.

Thank you so much!

Can anybody help me with online application ?

I am doing online application. Did it give you an option to 'submit' online? I am in the process now. For online application, it's assessing eligibility first and then giving you options of family sponsorship or visitor visa. I selected visitor visa and I am being redirected to a page where it's showing different forms and supporting documents. When I open the main form, it's opening in PDF. Does it mean v have to fill it out online and print out and mail it out along with supporting documents?

Please help.
Thanks

Hello everyone....

Need your suggestions on when to apply for TRV.

We are planning to travel in the end of march if at all the trv is granted.

My question is... What would be the correct time to apply for it?

Can we apply in dec? Or will it be too early?

Thanks,
Srilatha

Hi Srilatha,

I would recommend applying 1-2 months before you want to go.

Hi,

I just have one question. Is it advisable to apply for TRV for my spouse before applying for PR or after the application for PR? or there is no effect on your TRV application?

We are in the process of sending the documents for SA but that might take some time. In the meantime, I want her to visit me here in Canada. She has previously traveled to Canada for 2 weeks on single-entry 6 month visa as my fiance.

Thanks

Hi rpsfyn,
My friend applied for his wife TRV before marriage, it got rejected. I myself applied after marriage before my first marriage anniversary and got accepted. This is what I have learned so far about getting TRV

1 You need to prove ties to India. ( Job or assets ). Job is the key here. My wife was working , but my friend's wife was not working. I think was the key difference.
2 Relationship ( Reason for TRV). If you apply for TRV before marriage, what will be your good reason to visit? My recommendation is to apply after marriage because then you show that your going to visit your husband/wife as you miss her/him. I would wait until you get approved as a sponsor and then apply for TRV. Again, the key is the job which shows that she will comeback to resume her job. ( Job leave letter ) . I might be speculating , maybe other members can shed more light on this.

You mentioned that she got visa before, so i don't think there is any problem with applying before PR application. I called CIC few months ago, they told me TRV and PR are two different things, They dont affect each other. I m positive she will get the visa before PR because he has history.
