OMG what a day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So happy for you and your family Tom! Guys with all this activity lately I wonder what are the chances that they process all of us at the same time, I mean we have different timelines, it's like they woke up after a loooooooooong sleep in the year 2013!

Anyways good morning Vienna! Good luck to all of us!

I am so Happy for you that got some new news from Vienna.

Toronto ASAP:

Can I ask you, how long it took to dedicate your interview day, after they received the updated documents? did you go for interview yet?

for filling out the Schedule B, if our info like previous job details has slightly differences do you think could make a problem for us?

Irsa, they only asked a new police certificate from me at the same time they scheduled the interview for March 05, I should bring it with me then.
About the jobs at Schedule B I really don't know but I'm guessing that what's most important for them are the dates and name of employers and the rest are simply details.

Does anyone know why some people receive visas right after the interview and some wait a couple of months after? Do they normally finish background checks before the interview?

@ Canucksfan I can see from your timeline you had an interview on 19 Nov 2013, what did they tell you than, why are you still waiting? (sorry if you already said it) And please when you have the chance tell me more about your experience bcs I'll be in the same boat soon.

What a day! I am looking forward to more good news like this - it gives me hope :) Thanks guys for sharing your info!!! 8)

I guess maybe it's time to play some lotto because its the jackpot day today!

We too just received an email from Vienna with an attachment requesting extra docs for the baby's birth certificate ( Additional family info) a police certificate from Greece, where my wife now rightfully resides ( if we only had been able a few months ago we would have transferred our file to Rome and be gone by now!
And of course they want from me the sponsor a proof of intention to return to Canada. (Yeah it is called Austerity crisis)
I sent them a work offer last year. Now they want another one. Sheiiiit no problem....I will get one!
And then like everyone else they want all these back within 60 days.
I am in Hungary now and should be flying to Greece on Saturday. As of Monday morning we will start collecting these docs and send them off to them!

Good luck to all and i i hope and wish that everyone here gets the good news.

Tom

Great news, Tom!

Congrats to all of you who got news from Vienna, really exciting.

According to the CIC website, they should be updating their processing times soon (hopefully by the end of this week). Last update was Oct. 30. Let's all hope and pray for faster times. It should go back to 10 months :)

Congrats Tom and say hello to everybody in Hungary for me!

I am really hoping that they would ask me to go for an interview. I like it better than the idea of getting a new police certificate. It takes forever to get it and costs a fortune to have it translated. But hey, I wish I was as close to the end as you guys are! I wouldn't complain either way ;)

does anyone had the experience asking for Schedual B, police certificate and then have interview? Please tell me how long it had taken for you to put you on interview after they received the documents?

do you think how long the processing time takes? is it means they did Criminally and security checks?

Pleaaaaaaase let me know your experience.

That's great news Tom and I am so very happy to see that things are happening for the Vienna group. Finally it seems like this week Vienna has turned a corner. Let's hope that this will continue. Best wishes as your application moves into its latter stages of processing.

Congrats Tom, great news. They are really on fire...maybe they want to reduce the waiting time a few months :)
One by one, and we will all get the COPR's soon. It's soooo great to see so much enthusiasm in the Vienna thread (finally).
Best of luck everyone :)

Dear Tom:

Congratz on the good news. I really hope that your wife and your little angel ret their visas before Feb is over.

Dear Irsa:

Not everyone get asked for an interview. Interviews are arranged for applicants than have a a little thing amongst their documents that did not fully satisfy the visa officer. for instance, if you say that you have travelled to places and there are no tickets and pictures to support this. So basically if you have every claim that you've made backed up by supporting documents then they do not ask for an interview. However, Schedule A is a different story. They ask for that quite often. Since I have 2 applications for Canada running in parallel (both here in Europe) I get asked for schedule A almost every few months )it's just an update for themselves and it's a wonderful sign that your visa officer is not slacking. I always send my documents with registered mail from Germany. It arrives within 3-5 days and you have a tracking number that is useful if after a few weeks they claim that they haven't received the documents, then you can reference the info from the tracking number (date of arrival, sent date, and such) and that makes them have to look for your documents that are already there.

Hi my friend, I am in Sopron and am flying back to Greece on Saturday. Where are you at?

:) Be careful what you wish for. You might end up with interview and a request to bring a Police Certificate. :)
Which country is this that charges so much for a PC? Greece (my country) you can go to neighborhood citizens service office (KEP) and request one. They will supply it to you in less than 5 working days free of charge. This KEP's are government run offices and a Greek citizen may request any legal or government document.
Funny thing is, in my country everything crumbles due to the crisis, but thank God we still have good public services..and free....

Tom

Good to hear of some movement in Vienna! Keep hanging in there! Congrats Tom and Milance!
