You are about same time frame as Tom (Messenger), so I think they must be working on your application as well...I wonder if they at Vienna office are as haphazard about things as they are in Ottawa office? It seems they don't ALWAYS follow the same routine for each person, just as each application is handled by an individual visa officer, they each seem to do things in their own order....? Maybe Tom can answer you better as regarding the Vienna office, I've just been "spying" a little here to see if any movement was happening.Irsa said:guys please someone let me know, what is happening in process time. do u think that security and crimnal check happened before it? plsssssss let me know. how long the processing time takes?

We thought after we got passport request it would only be maximum of 6 weeks to CoPR according to what we heard from others...we started getting worried because it took 3 MONTHS! So don't think it will always be what others will say or you may get overly discouraged.Irsa said:Thank you for your respond Nicann:
We got an email for sending updated Schedule A, Police, ..... and I am wondering how long it takes after that.

We thought there was some kind of problem and were considering sending for notes, and suddenly got decision made and a few days later CoPR. It truly tests your patience and sanity. It will come.
Hi TorontoASAP,Toronto ASAP said:Irsa, they only asked a new police certificate from me at the same time they scheduled the interview for March 05, I should bring it with me then.
About the jobs at Schedule B I really don't know but I'm guessing that what's most important for them are the dates and name of employers and the rest are simply details.
Does anyone know why some people receive visas right after the interview and some wait a couple of months after? Do they normally finish background checks before the interview?
@ Canucksfan I can see from your timeline you had an interview on 19 Nov 2013, what did they tell you than, why are you still waiting? (sorry if you already said it) And please when you have the chance tell me more about your experience bcs I'll be in the same boat soon.

My husband and I have been married since 2005 and have 2 kids, so the Visa Officer said to my husband: "OH, I have nothing to ask about your marriage", he briefly went over his military book, police certificates for both my husband and stepson, discussed those, and at the end said it was all fine, fees paid, saw that the new medicals had to be done and said: "So as soon as you do the second medical, everything will be done. You should be home by New Years". We are to date still not sure what the interview was for. We finished the second medical and sent the updated Background forms as requested on November 29th, and have been waiting since. Not sure why. I guess they put our file in queue and we are waiting for the final review. Hopefully one of these days. Don't worry about the interview, being true to yourself, honest, with integrity is what they need to see. Bring as much info as you can, because they are too busy and maybe have forgotten or overlooked something you sent them already...the more you present, the better. I was there with my kids in the waiting room, while the hubby and son were in the interview room.
I know there has been a lot of debate about redoing the medicals, from our experience: maybe if had them redone before the interview, we could have had the passports stamped right there and then. And FYI: family class applicants CAN have the second medical done without the instructions from the visa office. So it's up to you. Follow your intuition. Good luck, if you have any other questions please feel free to ask. All the best! G
I am in Canada now but was born and raised in Békéscsaba (south east Hungary). It is far from Sopron but distances in Europe seem to be so short nowmessenger said:Hi my friend, I am in Sopron and am flying back to Greece on Saturday. Where are you at?
Be careful what you wish for. You might end up with interview and a request to bring a Police Certificate.
Which country is this that charges so much for a PC? Greece (my country) you can go to neighborhood citizens service office (KEP) and request one. They will supply it to you in less than 5 working days free of charge. This KEP's are government run offices and a Greek citizen may request any legal or government document.
Funny thing is, in my country everything crumbles due to the crisis, but thank God we still have good public services..and free....

Hi CanucksFan - can I ask you - so if I understood correctly you had your medical done after it was requested? I am contemplating on weather redoing medicals for my husband even though they have not requested it yet - they expire in March... The only thing that worries me is that he is currently in Canada as a visitor so I am not sure if he has to go back to Croatia to get them re done or can it be done here? Does anyone know maybe?CanucksFan said:Hi TorontoASAP,

You can redo them anywhere in the world as long as it is done by a panel physician approved by CIC.Ljiljana said:Hi CanucksFan - can I ask you - so if I understood correctly you had your medical done after it was requested? KKMoe - where are you getting your PC from? Canada or Hungary? If Hungary wouldn’t it be better to do the translation over there? Aren’t there certified translators in Hungary? Maybe have someone do that for you if you are in Canada at the moment?KKMoe said:I am in Canada now but was born and raised in Békéscsaba (south east Hungary). We don't have to pay too too much for the PC (20 CAD or so), it is the translation the can be a little tricky sometimes. I will probably request is via the consulate in Ottawa, they would take care of the translation as well.
I'm not getting anything done yet, just thinking about possible scenarios Yes, we have translators over there but the PC would have to be sent to Canada first then sent over to Hungary again for translation and then sent back here so I can send it to Vienna It is easier to do everything in Ottawa. I am not even sure if they send PCs abroad, the Hungarian system is so unbelievably not flexible.Ljiljana said:KKMoe - where are you getting your PC from? Canada or Hungary? Ljiljana, in our case they were expired for over 2 years(First med done Aug 30, 2011) and maybe we should've done them on our own prior to the interview. But in case of your husband, who is already in Canada, and would be able to redo them in Canada - in case he's asked to - I really wouldn't worry about it then; i.e I'd wait for the instructions.Ljiljana said:Hi CanucksFan - can I ask you - so if I understood correctly you had your medical done after it was requested?
