Tom what are you going to send as proof of your intention to move back to Canada? Since my wife is living with me in Germany since 2011 we might need to send in additional proof too.

Ljiljana, in our case they were expired for over 2 years(First med done Aug 30, 2011) and maybe we should've done them on our own prior to the interview. But in case of your husband, who is already in Canada, and would be able to redo them in Canada - in case he's asked to - I really wouldn't worry about it then; i.e I'd wait for the instructions.

Hi CanucksFan - yes your medicals were really expired.. We haven’t been requested anything yet...so yes I will wait - I have heard that sometimes they extend your medical if your application is towards the end but who knows what is with our application - I am not that optimistic.. I can’t believe how long you have been waiting for your application - I just can’t believe it!

Its ok - I probably should update my profile with my timeline so everyone can see... Our Application was received in Mississauga in April 2013, Sponsor Approved May10th 2013and sent to Vienna that same date, AOR from Vienna May 24 2013...Medicals were done in March 2013... Still a long way to go

I'm not getting anything done yet, just thinking about possible scenarios Yes, we have translators over there but the PC would have to be sent to Canada first then sent over to Hungary again for translation and then sent back here so I can send it to Vienna It is easier to do everything in Ottawa. I am not even sure if they send PCs abroad, the Hungarian system is so unbelievably not flexible.

Yikes I don’t think I understood completely ??? So in short IF you get your PC you’re getting it issued from Hungary and not Canada? I am asking because my husband is in Canada and if I need to redo the PC I am not sure if he should get it from Croatia or Canada because he has been in Canada over 6 months now…

If there is a consulate for Croatia close to where you live, it is probably easier to request the PC there for your hubby and get it translated there as well. This is what I am going to do if needed.
Has anybody ever dealt with consulates in Canada? Are they any fast/helpful?

Thanks - the Croatian consulate is in Ottawa and I am in Alberta oh well we will see... I noticed that we have similar times Good luck!

I have a question regarding GCMS notes. My wife ordered notes on my case 30 days ago and we have not received anything yet. Since the initial email said that we would receive the notes within 30 calendar days is there a way to check the notes status online?

I applied nov 25 for gmcs notes and recieved them dec 25. I don't think there is a way to check the status of notes. when you apply they say if information is missing they will contact you. give it until the end of next week then contact them.

I had sent them with our Sponsorship apps a job offer from my Canadian ex-employer a big and respectable enterprise. It was my first employer in Canada back in the 80's ans since then I kept a live friendship with the owner although I have been away for more than 23 years.
he was very happy last year to make me a written offer of employment and although CIC-M approved it on my sponsorship it seems now Vienna wants a new one. I will ask him to sent me a new one with info of salary and a potential start date!

The funny thing is that most of my friends and acquaintances who are dealing with Rome have been accepted without even a job offer and only with a simple offer of accommodation from a relative!
But Vienna is always a step ahead any other VO!!!!!!!

I just wanted to tell you, I'm from Croatia as well. My husband has a Canadian citizenship and I'm in Canada with him as a visitor. Before I applied, I wanted to do my medical in Croatia, but there were some problems with the form, so I called the CIC and they told me that I can do my medical in Canada and I did so. When I requested the notes, it said: "medical: passed". It seems like the results are valid for 15 months. I did my medical in January 2013 and it says on my application that medical results are valid until March 15, 2014.

Since I am writing, I wanted to ask for a little help. I mentioned my timeline couple of times, but I'm gonna do it again. Application received on March 25, 2013, sponsorship approved on April 17. I'm in Canada with my husband the whole time as a visitor. On January 9, 2014 I went to Croatia and stayed there for 3 weeks. The day after I returned to Canada, I got a phone call from Vienna (to my parent's house). They told my mum that they are calling just to check where am I. So, now I'm worried they they will stop working on my application just because I'm in Canada. They didn't leave a message for me nor did I get an e-mail. Does anyone know if they usually call people to check if they are in home country or in Canada?

I applied through Vienna but have been in Canada for almost two years. There's no problem at all.
As long as your Mom told them that you are staying with your husband in Canada, everything is perfect. It's one more proof that you are in a genuine relationship

Thanks for writing First of all, thanks for letting me know about the medical - I just wanted to make sure that my husband did not have to go back to Croatia in case he had to redo them, because initially his medical was done in Zagreb, March 2013. Please let me know where on your application you can see until when your medical is valid? Are you referring to gcms notes?


Second - regarding your situation, I must say I have never heard that Vienna called someone at home to verify if the applicant is there?! This has not happened to us, or at least we don’t know of such a phone call- all I can do is tell you about our situation… Our application was received in April 2013 at that time I was in Canada my husband in Zagreb, he joined me in Canada in August 2013 and has been here since... When he entered Canada he got 6 months stay.. and this period expired today actually However a month ago we applied for an extension for his stay here - we asked for an additional 6 months.. When we got the approval he was granted a year! We were surprised.. so I called CIC to ask why, and they told me that since he has a sponsorship application in process, they know that it usually takes a long time to process and decided to grant him a year stay instead of 6 months.. So -I am sure that in his records Vienna can see that he is currently in Canada - since he received a file number and everything for his extension... however we have not received any e mail from Vienna on his file - only one e mail as a response to our question on AOR for his file a while back.. Do you mind me asking what you parents told Vienna where you are? How long have you been in Canada? Have you received any correspondence regarding your application up until the phone call?
