We got a request for a remedical and then two weeks later we got a request for a new police certificate as well since the old one expired. Obviously, they couldn't have asked for those two at the same time. :/
Hopefully this will be last step for us.

Good luck to everyone still waiting!!

For my husband they didnt asked for his police clearance , but we send either way cuz we know that is expired , just to make sure , they got, MAse your file will be close soon , we all have to be patients, even for me is from February 2012 it is 1 year that w are in process,
Sponsort just send even the police clearance if the last one is expired . Good luck evryone

Europe, did you translate the new police certificate in English and get it certified by a notary? We didn't do any of this first time around (and they didn't say anything) but this time around they asked for certified translation..

I dont understand why if they are making a background check, which supouse to be with policies and authorities they demand a new polices certificates? It doesn't make sense!
But anyway, we have to do what they want to be done and clear in this process. It's sad, they sent to my wife the request to redo the medicals for my son, but not the orders to mi wife. Se requested inmediatly, but still not answer yet!
As I said, this is the twilight zone!!!!

Venecan, I don't know but if it's been longer than a year that you took out your police certificate or if the one year term is nearing I'd suggest doing it again before they even request it. My husband did his medicals a month before the police certificate and so they requested medicals first and then two weeks later the police certificate again. We saw it coming so we were going to do it anyways, but yeah the whole process has so many ineffficiencies it's amazing.

As for the emails, they will respond, we also had some questions related to his medical exam, we sent two emails, to one they responded after 3 days, to the other one after more than 10..it's pretty random but they do respond if it's important.

We have to have patience...it's almost over...

Hi Europe and everyone

Why do you have to notarize the translated Police records?
First of all (I am speaking of my country) A Police record is by itself an official document. When you translate this document and the translation is done by an authorized translator then you have a perfect set. The official Police Record and its translation.

Do they actually (CIC) tell you that you have to notarize them?

no you don't need to notorize them, but it does need to be translated by an official translator. In the request they sent to my husband, they did not mention that it has to be notarized either.

Europe, my husband did his medical here in Canada and it took 2 weeks for the doctor to get the results. They were received by CIC RMO Ottawa on Monday but I have no idea how long its going to take for their medical examiners to look at it and email the report to Vienna. Hopefully not too long. Follow up with the doctor where your husband did his medicals, here they usually call when they receive the results and send them to CIC just to let you know that everything was ok...
We got our police certificate today, need to get it translated now.
Did you send it to the standard Vienna embassy address? And is it worth using registered mail?

we're almost there Europe, now that the background checks are over, the rest is just formalities, I really don't think it's going to take that long!!

For police certificate, it has to be translated (so it's automatically notarized). You also need to enclose ORIGINAL police certificate (and not a copy of it).

DO NOT SEND COURT CERTIFICATE.

I made the new medical today.
