HI Tam.1979,
Thank you for sharing your process with us here! Upon realizing what is ahead of us personally(after receiving your e-mail) I went to visit my husband Serdj977 in Serbia. So happy to spend those 5 weeks with him this year-I wouldn't have otherwise- we had no idea about the background checks, and were hoping the process would be over by March...
I wanted to mention regarding paying for caips- I sent my mom's personal check (was out of my own at the moment we were asking for caips...)
Do they ask for a certified check now? If not, you can write it yourself or ask anyone in Canada to write a check for $5 and send it in. I remember being shocked with the payment options-seems so antiquated...
It is understandable that you are frustrated and angry- most of us are in similar ways. Our lives are on hold and consumed by this procedure...and we can not do anything to speed it up. I find it helps to block out thoughts regarding the process, and focus on my life now and good moments happening in it. Time will pass and our procedures will be completed eventually- we know our husbands are good people, not war criminals. We need to conserve ourselves so we have health and energy for what comes after.
All the best and a huge thank you to you and your husband!
