Doesnt ontario pay for emissions as well? Is that in your ins. or seperate test? Maybe more vehicles more claims more payouts...plus provincial taxes.

Not only that but in nis i noticed by the time they have a sale they dont have the right sizes. And selection is horrible. Im a tommy guy everything from head to toe is tommy hahaha. We talked about salteruse the other day i think people are grumpy everywhere in serbia. The only ones that are nice are the kafane/restaurants in the small towns that are happy to see anyone come thru the door. Most of my friends here are from serbia and it pisses them off here when waiters come by and ask you how things are every 10-15 minutes but over there sometimes you cant flag down anyone for half an hour hahahaha. I love going there but that country is so behind in the times when it comes to somethings
Hey Milan

This scene is typical in the Balkans my friend. Unfortunately people from our part of the world still have a long way to go in manners and behaviour!

Wow your getting khmmm screwed hahahaha that is alot. 18 years ago i paid $220 a month for an 88' mustang. But i only drove it april-oct. basic coverage. New driver i was young. But if your financing or leasing you have to pay for full coverage 2 mil liability etc.

Dont despair! There were times when Ontario had it good. I left in 1990 to return to Greece. from 1987 to 1990 I had a 243 sq meters house that I was paying 900 per month for mortgage payments. Plus 100 more for home insurance and land taxes.

At that time i was bringing home 4000 per month and my wife was taking in another 2000. Before i bought the house I was renting a 2 bedroom huge apartment on Midland and Eglinton in Scarborough utilities included for only 270$ per month..Not bad eh?

A litre of gasoline costed then, aprox 34 cents, so an average fill in one of my three cars costed me no more than 20$. Is it getting better?

A shopping cart full of groceries would not total more than 100$ I am talking about a filthy top off a shopping cart.

A multi usage transit ticket in the TTC was merely a dollar. A cinema ticket was 8$, a pack of 25 Craven A's cigarettes ( yes I used to smoke) was bought from the corner store for $1,30 hahaha no joking! A six pack of Molson Export I cant remember because I am not a beer drinker hehehe

And the best for ladies and men who love shopping clothes. There were more Sears,Bays, Eatons than Bargain stores...If I remember correctly Bargain Harold's was the first and only bargain type store in Ontario..

Those times are long gone. Yesterday i heard on the radio canada has the highest paid middle class in the world. If you want to live comfortably and go on holidays once a year, house 2 cars etc children, you need to be bringing in 8-10k a month into the house. Easier if both husband and wife work but once you get daycare, food, gas, insurance, property tax, income tax.... In calgary, toronto, vancouver the housing market is high. You work to pay off taxes and mortgage lol and then you die

We could never afford a house in Calgary with our "normal" jobs. But last year we bought a new condo. Both of us can walk and bike to work - perfect location for us. We have one car that we barely use, two cats, no kids and one big holiday per year. To be able to afford this we don't eat out very often, don't go to bars and pubs, buy clothes at Value Village etc. Now with one income missing the money gets tight...

It takes awhile to get established here when you start from the begining. In canada you have the chance to be rich and poor 3-4 times in your lifetime. Once you start working things will get better. Lots of opportunities here

My boyfriend lived here his whole life (almost 43 years), works as an Assistant Superintendent on a golf course (full year salary). I had a fulltime office job with an "okay" paycheque for being a foreign worker. But we would never be able to survive with only one salary ;-)

One has to be in oil and gas to live off of one salary.

Dear friends,

I think family stream is right place to ask this question since many of you have kids and already live in Canada.
Also I apologize about my digression from shopping to health subject :)
Me and my wife are planning to have kids once we arrive in Canada but it really concerned us information about medical practice all-over in Canada.
There is lot's of information about long hours (up to 9 [nine] hours in Ontario!?!?) waiting for emergency health care when needed.
I would like to ask you, what is your experience with little kids when you need emergency care for them?

It really depends.

Often wait times at the emergency rooms are long, especially if you go there for something that the triage nurse determines isn't severe and puts more severe people ahead of you in the queue.
There are walk-in clinics with shorter wait times, I've babysat children and when they needed urgent but not overly complicated medical care I've simply called their pediatrician and they take them in right away.

It really depends on what you are going to the ER for, how many other people are there - consider time of day/night, season, etc. You just never know.

Maybe growing up in Ontario I'm somewhat used to longer wait times, and I know there are lots of complaints about wait times, but I don't think it is so bad.
