Noooo sorry if I confused you - it's just the automatic reply that everyone gets when sending them an e mail ... who knows if they will confirm if they have received the documents at all, so your saying that they haven't confirmed anything to you for the receipt of your additional documents sent?
No, they haven't and I wasn't expecting it either...they just love keeping people in dark. I guess after a year and a half of waiting and getting no information whatsoever you realize there is no point in expecting anything from them.

I am freaking out guys...i just saw a post regarding the schedule A (background declaration) and it seems you should list any travels. is this correct? My husband visited Canada twice, the last time was in 2006. We did not put this in the form. I was under the impression that it is mostly for work history. Can anyone help please, I am losing my mind. Is this going to be viewed as misrepresentation? What should I do?

Some countries require a travel history. It's in part 3 of the application package (country specific instructions). Just check it again. You're probably fine

I dont think you have anything to worry about.. in the work history section yes i does say "travel" but i think that only applies to travel for extended periods of time..i.e being somewhere for over 6 months/possibly working there.. I dont think you are supposed ot include all travel history..That used to be included in the application but was taken out i beleive

Eva, I just checked my app. If you are referring to question 8. Personal history in IMM5669 (version 12-2012) I did list travels every time I left the country. I remember writing an appendix because there wasn't enough space and looking at my old passport bcs I could't remember. I don't want to freak you out, I really don't know if they actually meant that you should list only when you left the country for more than 6 months, but I think you should check with more members.

Vienna didn't ask for updated schedule A from your husband? If you think it's a mistake you can send it with an explanation, they shouldn't make a problem out of it. Their questions are vague.

What I noticed the last time I applied for Tourist Visa is that they actually asked for travel history in the last 5 years, that was new, in the previous visas this wasn't a question.

We sent in an updated schedule A 3 weeks ago, but did not list his 2 visits to Canada. They do have this in their records....what should I do? Is it late to send an e-mail to add that information to the file?

I would send an email explaining the confusion and maybe ask them if you should send a new Schedule A in case their question refers to every time you leave your country. I'm sure they get the info from Canada border agency.

If thats the case and it is required then i am in troubel too.. my hubby went to germany on many occassions to visit his family there.. i did not include this as he was still "working" and simply took time off to travel.. i dont see what the significance of that would be.. for visitors visa YES because they want to see if you have a travel history and if you have respected visa allowances and so forth ( this would help possibly show that you are likely to return after your visa).. not sure why it would be required for a permanent residence type of situation.. Regardless of that im just speculating.. When my friend sponsored her hubby 3 years ago there was a seperate form for travel history which when filling out our paper work i noticed was removed. I thought that they did not require anymore. Now i am doubting my own application! ugh.

the sponsorship guide does state: If you were not working, provide information on what you were doing (for example: unemployed, studying, travelling, retired, in detention, etc.). .. so what if you travelled and you were working, but taking some time off ? ... you have to note something for each month and remember what trips you took in the past ten years? sounds a bit obsurd

Also the section seems to really be about work even though the title " personal history" is unclear. The column " name of company, employed, school or facility, would not be applicable either for a leisurely trip.

After speaking to someone who has sucessfully sponsored a spouse after 5 months waiting she seems to think that i did it accuratly as this form has not chanegd sicne she applied.. hope she is correct... !

I agree lalaBIH, the question is unclear as to what they require. I just called my husband freaking out and he also seems to think it should be fine as it is. The travels overlap with work history. Not sure what I should do, I am still nervous about this whole thing. They have in their records that he visited Canada, after all they are the ones issuing the visa.

Hi Nada,

I recently sent Vienna a revised schedule A form and had the exact same dilemma - but ended up writing his travels to Canada under Personal History and having under Activity "Visiting wife" stated. I thought to myself it doesn’t make sense to have this because I too thought it was only work related but then thought extra information can’t hurt (at least I hope so) I don’t know if this is correct or not but if you are stressed maybe try sending them an e mail saying that you were not sure and if needed you can send an updated Schedule A form again...

I only traveled when I was employed and never longer than 2 weeks. I didn't mention these trips because I always was full-time employed and listed my employers.
The travel history is a separate form and only requested for some countries for example people who apply through Paris. See no. 14 http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3901e.pdf Persons submitting their application to the Canadian visa office in Paris must complete the attached IMM 5562 form, Supplementary Information – Your travels.
