I was kind a busy last week and couldn't diligently read our threads as I do usually.
And than I'm back to catch up with you guys and I find THIS??? :)
Wonderful news, rain of good news and I'm so happy for all of you guys..
Congrats Tom on putting to end your anguishing waiting ;)
I hope that Vienna get into good cadence and that will hit us from FSW stream soon.
From your timelines I read that they are processing applications from April 2013.
FSW stream has opened in May 2013, and earliest parcels has been sent from CIC to Vienna beginning with July.
But our processing average time is much, much longer then yours, so who knows how long we will need to wait.
Anyway, what is crucially important, is that Vienna work very hard, and is ROLLING :)

Good luck everyone!

Thanks for you kind words. I wish you too at FSW thread a much quicker process..
Finally Vienna is sending out requests for Docs updates which is super. I know that as soon as we send them back to them they will soon issue a visa.

My regards

Tom

That's usually the practice? You think criminality checks and all that has already been done?

Hiya

A lot of people here are just simply getting the wrong impressions. VO's can request to check criminality records only if the applicant has had a spot on his/her Police certificate. Why else they go and ask for an updated PC all the time. They will of course place a signal at the main Interpol system and will check if there is an outstanding warrant for the applicant but that's as far as it goes. Unless of course the applicant has spent time in Canada so by all means they have the right to hit on RCMP main DB to get criminality info.
My assumption that as soon as they receive the info they requested from us we will be over and done, is because if they intended to delay they would have asked for a new medical. Οurs has already expired Jan 31st.
Regards

Tom

EDIT: We also got trained properly to think the process must take this long as Vienna is taking. Dead Wrong!
Rome is processing applicants now in less than 5 months. Paris has been processing all applicants in 4 months.
So why do we all think that the delays are caused for criminality checks amigo? It simply doesn't make any sense whatsoever that VO's in Europe have different operating procedures and demands from their applicants?

I totally agree with you Tom! I don't think Vienna takes that long because of the Criminality check. I assume adding all the additional countries to Vienna's list of responsibility a while ago created a massive backlog. I am also sure (at least I hope so) that no officer in Vienna is delaying applications on purpose ... I like to think that they are working as hard as they can to get every application processed as fast as possible!

EDIT: I have checked our GCMS notes which we received a couple of days ago ... eligibility, criminality etc all have "due date 2014/10/10" which is exactly 1 year from when the sponsorship of my wife was confirmed. I assume this is a sign that without a backlog they plan on having all applications processed within at most a year. However due to the strike, the small VO in Vienna and the additional countries I assume the backlog might be bigger than we hope.

But the bright side of the story is that Vienna seems to be hard at work in 2014! Let us all hope they will keep up this pace throughout the year ...

I went over our GCMS notes once again and just discovered something strange ... eCAS shows 'Application received' and Eligibility, Criminality etc show status 'not started' but under HISTORY Application Status shows App Status: Open and App Status Reason: In Progress (Update date 2013/10/31)

I assume this only means that the application was touched in Vienna to put it into the Registry (which is its current location according to the notes) and that they are not actually working on it.

I got my COPR today!!!!!!!!!! Oh, I'm so happy!!!!
Waiting time Vienna: 9+1/2 months.
But I have to say, Vienna was super fast on my case. When I checked e-cas today, it was changed to "Decision made" (2 days ago it was still just "Application received"). But it says that they started working on my application on January 30, 2014, and I already received COPR with a date on it January 31.
It was the RCMP who was delaying everything: over 8 months for security check. Even the MP told us before that it is not Vienna's fault, it's Canadians.

I hope that everybody will start getting their COPRs now.... Good luck!

This is wonderful news, congratulations! Gives me hope that my application will be processed fast enough and maybe I'll get PR by the end of the year.

Submitted Jan 18 2013
Application Received since then
Checked ecas today
IN PROCESS on January 31 2014

Wow Vienna is working hard so far this year. I think they must have changed coffee suppliers.

Now just hoping its all said and done, maybe a request for re-med, few docs, and my wife will be back in Canada by March!

For those that submitted recently, I think your timelines will be much shorter than those that submitted in early 2013.

Wish us luck!!

Willis

Hi friends:

I got our Notes, Its as follow:

Eligibility Assessment :
Status: Not Started-updated date 2013/03/02
Due date: 2014/03/21
Security:
Not started- updated date 2013/03/02
Due date: 2013/04/01
Criminality:
Due date: 2013/04/01

Paper File Transfer History:
Updated Date: 2014/01/17
Location: TDO Temporary Duty Officer

Could you please tell me what the meaning of Due date for criminality is 2014/01/17? It means that they are starting the criminality at that time? and its take long time after that?
Am I right that they started Security at 2013/04/01?
I am confused please help me out.

Thank you so much.

Good luck Willis, hope your wife gets COPR soon. It's been over a year for you.

C'mon Vienna, get your asses working on those cases. If I knew it's just the coffee that makes them work faster, I would offer to sponsor them with some better quality brand :)
