Yes, India has the regulation that Indian passports can't be sent outside the country via courier. But I know so many people who were living in Canada but their spouse/children were in India and they got an email to send their passports to Detroit/Buffalo. Two of my cousins got passport request last month and got the passports of their spouses/children couriered from India (I know it is illegeal). Another option which you have is to find a friend/relative who is traveling from India to Canada and who can bring the passport of your spouse with him/her. I don't think CIC cares for this Indian law because most of the countries don't have this restriction and CIC is not going to change its procedure due to law of one country.

Hey guys,
It's been while... Lots has happened in my absence. Congratulations to all who got meds and for all the ppr good news I have read. The journey is over for my friend (now wife). She got her ppr and visa issued. AVO was her processing office. All together, it took 5months for pr processing. God will surely perfect it you all of you this month! Have a good one.......

Accra, for me it's not interested btw, it's way faster.

so spoke to another cic customer service rep. He says theres no problem in travelling as long as i have visa to come back, and says i can send my passport from anywhere i want to as long as they receive it.

So screw this process, i'm going home. ;D

Next thing should be PPR. Security does not apply to everyone. Only people on the hot list of terrorism or from "hot spots" may be subject to this. CSIS conducts security. The majority of applicants only need criminal checks run by RCMP computer system and PCC from other countries in order for VO to conclude background check.

This is a very good GCMS note :) Give them few more weeks.
