hey pineapple,

i got my MR from CIO as well. and same category as yours PV2. What she said was CPP-Ottawa is being used for correspondence only but the processing shall be done by a VO outside canada. She didn't mention what Visa office its going to be, well she didn't know it. your file went into process 1st oct mine went 9th. its pretty close. i am BCPNP though. Man if files go outside canada for processing trust me its a nightmare, it shall be a never ending story.

Hey stone 8198

When I got my medical request, it was sent by CIO Sydney and the category written on my medical forms was PV2, which means provincial nominee processed abroad (I am in Canada for the past 7 years, but my spouse is in India). However, according to the email, all further correspondence should be done with CPP-Ottawa. So, even I don't know what my visa office is, although I wrote Ottawa in my application form. I am also very confused regarding all this.

What was your category in the medical forms? Did you ask them that if not Ottawa, which is your visa office?

Provincial immigration process only abroad and CPP-O is considered as abroad visa office, like Buffalo office was.

No its not considered. I asked her specifically that the email mentions my vo as cpp-ottawa, she said if you read the email carefully it mentions all correspondence should be sent to that office. It does not mention anywhere that they are or will process your file.

You should have asked her how come CIC website list CPP-O as one visa processing post with a unique processing time and see how misleading that lady could be.

i didn't bother continuing the conversation as i realised she isn't talking sense, and anyways she isn't a Visa officer to be knowing everything. so i rest my case and hung up.

they are stupid, when I called them and ask should I send my lang test with my PR app, because I wasn't sure, there was a exception for applicants who came to Canada before 1st July, and she didn't give me an answer, she said we don't know.

When you have a dependent which is not residing in Canada (e.g. spouse in India) , your application will be processed outside Canada. Even if you fill in Ottawa as visa office, they will still send the application to the office where your dependent is residing. This is according to the rules and there are definite reasons for following this policy.

Call centre gave us quite interesting topic. In my thought, first AOR from CIO mentioned that further processing will be a proper vo, then i got second AOR/MR from CIO in my case and the first sentence of the second AOR was

Acknowledgement of Receipt and Medical Request Forms

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada which was received at the Centralized Intake Office (CIO) on 07/06/2012.

i think that should be our vo because if our vo is outside of canada, suppose my case should be in Seoul in South Korea, but never get any communication with them.

just wish for ppr all the time.

Thanks

I remember when before people used to send their apps directly to Buffalo, their apps could also be transfered to Detroid, LA, Seattle etc.

Hmm, can you please show us the source of this info? I think the principle applicant is the most important factor when assigning to VO. If someone lives in Canada and obtain Canadian qualification just because his spouse in India then his application be processed in India. That doesn't sound right to me

Certainly not, i believe it's all about officer's discretion, but as AOR mentioned that processing could be delayed if accompanying family members are not resident in the area of responsibility of the office responsible for your application.

my friend applied for PR (BC PNP, he mentioned Buffalo), but in 5 months he got med request from ukrainian office (he's ukrainian), his wife was in Ukraine at the time he applied, after she came to Canada, but anyways his app in Ukraine (avg time is 19 months), that's unlucky.

so I believe that's true.
