Thanks for the response however maybe I didn't make it clear. We have moved within Canada to a new place, I have diverted my mail with Canada post, however I'm not sure I totally trust the postal service. I'm just curious how the London office chooses to contact people when requesting further info or asking for a passport. Is it normally by email when requesting the passport?

The people I know got an email, but maybe a letter will be sent.

Strange, like you I am not that impressed with Canada post. Royalmail is not that much better BTW.

No, it's REALLY not!! They lost my passport application last year, but then found it..and then advised me to buy the wrong postage for our sponsorship/PR application so it was only tracked until it left the UK!! Royal Mail are about as useful as a chocolate teapot!

Hubby is already in Canada, We are sending his passport tommorow By courier, then hoping it comes before the end of the year and we will just drive over the border to the states Would be a great way to start the new year

We got asked for a military certificate of non conviction.

We were only asked Nov 8 I sent it Nov 23 they got it Nov 26
And we didnt' have to wait 3-4months like they said

Where did you get that certificate from? It's just that I was also in the military and guess that I will probably get the same request, so I would like to be ahead of the game.

When i called there, the lady said that normally they don't ask for it anymore but she would do it for us. She said civil police record should be enough now, as they changed the rules not requesting military police checks.

You have to write a letter to them requesting it, what it's for, your DOB, you need your passport page photocopied and sent to them, rank, hmm i am not really sure what else, The lady there was really good I sent it and she had it done within a day.

You can give them a call and see what they say

Good news all, London are still working quickly.
My fiance's passport has just been delivered so London processed it and got it back to us in 7 days.
