Congrats for PPR. Looking at what's been happening previously (am seriously obsessing on timings of previous months) it looks like London are still working on approximately three months for initial application to Mississauga to PPR.

As long as there are no queries/problems etc.

I don't think that's too bad, although I'm sure it will slow down now, as the whole of UK is grinding to a halt due to snow (my husband says that the UK is just trying to get me ready for northern Alberta weather) and of course then there will be Christmas & New Year!!

Thanks Mandi. Where abouts are you off to? I'll be in Stony Plain, just outside Edmonton. My sister is out there - she moved back 4yrs ago - and she says the winters are getting milder...still freezing if course, but milder!! I told my fiancé the same thing, but he's desperate to get out there anyway. He is too laid back for England, he'll fit in great out there.
Roll on 17th May!! Flights are booked, just need to sell the house now!!

I'm initially off to Bonneyville/St Paul area in Northern Alberta where my husband is working right now, although for first 6 months or so will be moving around a lot due to his work, until I've gotten over my separation issues and then I'll settle down in his house in Ontario while he works 21 days on and then 10 days off - which isn't perfect, but at least we'll be in the same country!

Currently I get a weather report from Cold Lake where is is right now every day when we skype. The coldest it has been in the last couple of months has been -30 which is very very cold and not sure how I'll cope with that, but I definately will to be with him.

My flight is also booked, but I'm going out on 12th January - we've decided that this waiting separately is just not working for us and so I'm going to rent out my house here in Leeds and go out on TRV, although it shouldn't be too long until PPR comes through after I get there (working on the 3 month timeline - fingers crossed!)

I just hope everything goes smoothly with my 'visit' out there until the PPR comes through.

Luckily I'm with my man so we'll move out together. I would be doing the same as you if we were separated.
You'll get used to the cold, the country is set up for it - unlike the UK!! Stick on some thermal longjohns and you'll have a great time!! Best of luck xx

It makes a big difference being with them, I am lucky enough that his work has been sending him home every other month to visit, and he's here on the 16th Dec until we leave together in January - but it will be good to start our lives properly in Canada after all this waiting and the hassle we went through initially to get him his working visa for UK - but with the economy (blah, blah, blah) it just didn't work for him over here, so next step Canada!!

Oh yes, Canada is so set up for proper snow and the cold - he just laughed when I told him last night about the whole of the UK coming to a standstill with our snow situation at the moment - he thinks we're all crazy over here!!

Thanks for the luck and same to you - your waiting is all over and you've got everything sorted and ready to go - it makes such a big difference to your life!

I was going to send mine by Royal Mail Special Delivery, because it's Next Day delivery but I can't be bothered to get the kids dressed up for the snow so I've booked a courier to collect it tomorrow instead. I'm so lazy !!
