;D I am so over the moon right now! Our attorney just notified us that we have ppr today, 7/20. We will probably head down to buffalo next week to get my passport stamped and land. I feel really bad for those that applied ahead of me and are waiting, I am keeping you all in my thoughts. Your words are far more valuable than you'll ever know, thanks!
Recent activity:
My attorney sent an email to buffalo about a week ago to update our address on file to a canadian one and their response was ppr. We had just sent the fingerprint clearance and RPRF in may and on june 28 we got RPRF confirmation from cpc-M. My ecas still says file received mar 24 and still has my old california address. I'll let u all know how the landing goes and if I could I would take the biggest pinata stick to buffalo to get everyone's file going!

Congrats Dorion, I"m happy for you, truly am.

When you are landing, please nudge the Officer and tell him/her to get moving on the December apps. Please and thanks. ;D

Wow Chess, have you tried calling your MP? I hope you are the next one with PPR!

Hey,
Should I email them? What should I say, I mean we have heard from them ( in June) but we sent the requested documents immediately expecting a quick response considering we've been waiting since August 2010! It's just really really hard on me now :(

I recently visited my MP's office, it was suggested if you want action to go there directly rather than email/call.

Basically they collected my information, name, address, file number, etc. I signed a release so they could inquire on my behalf, and 3 days later the MP's office called me with an updated.

They told me that my file is scheduled to be reviewed on July 12. It was great to hear some news about my file. Although a week has passed since my file was to be reviewed by Buffalo, and we haven't heard anything else.

Got a Passport Request email from Buffalo this afternoon!

Overjoyed is an understatement!

The clock is running! So much to do in very little time!

I'm so glad our painstaking reviews of all the forms paid off before we sent them.

Wishing all of you the same good news soon!

Cheers!

Congratulations!!! Hope more are coming soon!!

I received what I thought was a ghost update from my e-cas tracker this morning. closer inspection revealed that it was actually the DISAPPEARANCE of my address that set it off. my client ID used to show our lawyer's address, and my spouse's client ID showed our home address. now, my client ID shows no address.. but my spouse's still shows our home address. I wonder if that is bad news (e.g. they lost my lawyer's address entirely) or good news (e.g. they are actually doing something with the file again, or finally sent something out!)

I got the same kind of ghost e-cas update just now! Don't know what it means !

We got one of these on Jul 3. So far nothing else has changed as far as we can tell.

My wife's address (she's the principal applicant) disappeared. Nothing else.

It still has not reappeared.

chinook65 and Dorian - Yeah you guys.

We are in the February bunch and it is good to see some action. I hope everything is smooth sailing from here on out for you guys.

Got this email yesterday:
If you have recently submitted documents or information to this office, we will update your file accordingly.

Due to high application volumes, we cannot acknowledge receipt of every fax, mail or other correspondence (documents or information).

If we require additional documents, we will contact you.

Your application is in process. No further action is required by you at this time.

We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum.

I find this very rude and a bunch of CRAP!!! Why will they not answer my questions directly? You would think that you would ant to make immigration as user freindly as possible. I have never gotten an answer from Buffalo, meanwhile when my wife had to go thru the same process a few years ago in the states, there was much more help and the whole process took no longer than 6 months. Oh ya once we sent in our initial application she got a work visa so she could find work ANYWHERE!!! Not have to go thru the work visa process, which the way I understand it here in Canada is much more difficult. First get a job offer then it has to be proven that there is no Cadian available. All I want to to is get setteled in and start working, you can't tell me that there are more trying to come to Canada than the US. I am not saying anything bad about Canada but come on make the process a little more easy for the applicant to get info!!!

Ghost update. Nothing at all added or taken away.

I hate ghost updates :(

One of the reasons why they would hide the addresses from e-cas is probably to make sure the applicants do not intend on changing their address on e-cas. As they have been stressing on the point that e-cas is not really reliable to check the status of application processed outside Canada, they also keep telling that we should not change our address on there, instead mail them the new address. So maybe, they hid the addresses for Principle Applicant !

Don't know...my mind is just wandering with weird thoughts !

Clemfamily, sorry to hear your frustration. from your post you seem to be a US citizen. Every immigration jurisdiction is different, Canada has a different way it handles its process, US citizens have a lot more rights than US permanent residents (green card holders) a visa number is generally available to their spouses but not so with permanent residents.

In Canada, citizens and landed immigrants seem to be treated the same way for immigration purposes, in fact in the US not a lot of provision if any, is made for common law partners for immigration neither for conjugal partners whereas in Canada their is provision under the immigration statutes.

I got sponsored by my spouse from Canada to the USA many years ago and had to wait three years before a visa number was available to me because she was only a green card holder and not a citizen and they did not even want me to visit thinking that I would overstay because my wife was living there. The difference is that the USA site gives more updates it tells you what period they are working on so that you have an idea when you will be process.

Another ghost e-cas update to report: They removed my address (principal applicant) but it still shows up on my husband's e-cas.

I also noticed that they modified the e-cas system slightly. The wording of categories in the ID # dropdown menu is different, and using my "Client ID" that I received upon sponsorship approval to log into my husband's e-cas now requires a hypen in the middle that it did not before.

Interesting....

Yup even my address is gone (principal applicant).

Although I did send a case specific inquiry for them to change my address so dont know what is going on.

My address disappeared from eCAS a few days before my PPR. I don't want this instilling false hope though, because I've heard of it happening to others in the past for seemingly no reason as well. I assume it's either an eCAS glitch, or Buffalo does it from time to time for other reasons.

But either way, remember never to bother updating your address on eCAS if you need it updated on Buffalo's end. They do NOT get the eCAS address updates; you'd need to contact Buffalo directly to get yours updated. (I can't remember offhand where the source is for this, but it's officially stated in more than one place that outland embassies/consulates need to be contacted directly for address changes.)
