Amine not sure I understand what you mean. They were conducting background checks and now have requested an interview? If something comes up in the background check they have questions about they can request an interview to clarify any concerns.

may be that s why ! i dunno really what to do

I don't understand. If you apply through Buffalo you must have legal status to visit the U.S. If you don't have it, you shouldn't have applied through Buffalo.

I don't think there is any way to just transfer the files to Canada. I think that the only thing you could do is to start a new application from the beginning. Why can't you go to the United States?

If you don't go it will be like you just didn't appear for the interview and they will need to make a decision from whatever information they have.

Can someone please tell me how the Passport Request works because right now I am in Ottawa visiting and having my family check the mail at our new address but my mom told me 2 weeks ago I received the letter saying I was in process with the stickers to our old address then it was transferred to our new address but now I am wondering if it comes via email or if they will send it again to our old address or to our new one because I had sent them and email when we first moved out of state back in July and they sent that in sept to the old address, thanks :)

Good morning,

Has anyone who knows that a "decision was made" on Sponsorship Application the week of September 13th received a letter yet? A decision was made on ours on September 13th and a letter sent September 14th. We are still waiting for the letter.

Also, I have never lived in the US (just Bermuda) but I went ahead and requested an FBI Clearance certificate which I received last week. I included a Police Certificate from Bermuda with my original application. I don't want to cause any delays by holding on to the FBI letter! Whether they need it or not, I want to sent it to join my file. What should I do with it?

I also did not pay the final fee (RDPR??) just the application fees. How and when should I pay that? Buffalo's website says they do not accept Receipt of Payment from CIC but the CIC website says that I can pay it online as I live outside Canada. Any thoughts? I want to pay this and get it out of the way.

Thanks and best,
Nell

Did you send the change of address request to both Buffalo and Mississauga? They don't seem to talk to one another about address changes.

Most people on this forum seem to be getting their PPR (passport request) via email, but you have to send them an email to receive an email. This gives them permission to contact you via email. Hope this helps :)

Amine from what I understand from a previous thread is that you had legal status of 1 year in Canada when you applied to Buffalo which is allowed. Considering you're not from a Visa Exempt country and can't enter the States without a Visa, you should have definitely applied through your homeland (Philipines, Manila) if I'm not mistaken. The fact they've requested an interview in Buffalo and can't enter without a Visa I think the application will have to be withdrawn and started anew unless there is someway you can secure a visa to enter the States?

Any other advice?

Thank you ljane79 :)

I sent buffalo and email back in July about my address change

Send an address change request to Mississauga too. Your welcome and good luck.

The officer at the border told me that I can stay in Canada for up to 6 months. The actual regulation reads " up to 183 days, in any 12 month period of time ". I'm not sure if they can check it, but I'm sure if they find out it ain't pretty. I've heard of one person getting kicked out and their permanent resident application was subsequently denied.

If you don't have a stamp and you don't have a visitor record, you can stay for up to 6 months. I insist that they do not keep track of what you said at the border. If they wanted to keep track, they would have given you a VR. You don't need to extend unless you go over the 6 months.

Anyone know how to check eCAS? I mailed my application on the 21'st of August, but don't have a receipt of any kind or anything. I haven't received one yet.

ohhh i c... i think u guys r right though i shouldnt worry only reason i was questioning it was bc they pulled up my PR application and knew when i applied etc. i think the girl threw out the yellow slip i handed her as well.
