Amine not sure I understand what you mean. They were conducting background checks and now have requested an interview? If something comes up in the background check they have questions about they can request an interview to clarify any concerns.
I don't understand. If you apply through Buffalo you must have legal status to visit the U.S. If you don't have it, you shouldn't have applied through Buffalo.amine01 said:what does it mean that they were doin background check then they ask for an intervieww
Do you mean Right of Permanent Residence fee (RPRF)? Try this thead. http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t48369.0.htmlnelly72 said:Good morning,
Has anyone who knows that a "decision was made" on Sponsorship Application the week of September 13th received a letter yet? A decision was made on ours on September 13th and a letter sent September 14th. We are still waiting for the letter.
Also, I have never lived in the US (just Bermuda) but I went ahead and requested an FBI Clearance certificate which I received last week. I included a Police Certificate from Bermuda with my original application. I don't want to cause any delays by holding on to the FBI letter! Whether they need it or not, I want to sent it to join my file. What should I do with it?
I also did not pay the final fee (RDPR??) just the application fees. How and when should I pay that? Buffalo's website says they do not accept Receipt of Payment from CIC but the CIC website says that I can pay it online as I live outside Canada. Any thoughts? I want to pay this and get it out of the way.
Thanks and best,
Nell
Did you send the change of address request to both Buffalo and Mississauga? They don't seem to talk to one another about address changes.feefee87 said:Can someone please tell me how the Passport Request works because right now I am in Ottawa visiting and having my family check the mail at our new address but my mom told me 2 weeks ago I received the letter saying I was in process with the stickers to our old address then it was transferred to our new address but now I am wondering if it comes via email or if they will send it again to our old address or to our new one because I had sent them and email when we first moved out of state back in July and they sent that in sept to the old address, thanks
Send an address change request to Mississauga too. Your welcome and good luck.feefee87 said:Thank you ljane79
I sent buffalo and email back in July about my address change
i would be happy if they actually requested it then i would be surely getting my PPR soon but i paid it in advance without a requestljane79 said:Great news SaugaBoss! Finally some news on your case. You must be thrilled
The officer at the border told me that I can stay in Canada for up to 6 months. The actual regulation reads " up to 183 days, in any 12 month period of time ". I'm not sure if they can check it, but I'm sure if they find out it ain't pretty. I've heard of one person getting kicked out and their permanent resident application was subsequently denied.SaugaBoss said:i would be happy if they actually requested it then i would be surely getting my PPR soon but i paid it in advance without a request
but on a good note i am in Canada yaaay ;D ;D ;D waiting for the rest of the process to finish in canada.... and for the first time the border people stopped me bc my inlaws picked me up and saw my app on process and asked if im working i said yes bc i technically didnt quit yet and she asked if im getting paid i said yea i am im salaried some really dum,b questions they asked me how long i said for 2-3 weeks..... which might be longer if i dont get my PPR :-\ but i always never left the date i told them i would this is the first time this happened do they actually track you down i didnt get a stamp she said ok u can go for 2 weeks i asked her do i need a temp visa she said no ur fine... anyone ever get in trouble for extending in Canada. (my husband did in the USA for extending stay without tellng the border people) is it same for CanadA??
bc so many times i told them 1 week stayed for 3 months but this time its kind of weird with them giving me a yellow slip to go inside and stuff..
If you don't have a stamp and you don't have a visitor record, you can stay for up to 6 months. I insist that they do not keep track of what you said at the border. If they wanted to keep track, they would have given you a VR. You don't need to extend unless you go over the 6 months.SaugaBoss said:this is the first time this happened do they actually track you down i didnt get a stamp she said ok u can go for 2 weeks i asked her do i need a temp visa she said no ur fine...
