its the number that buffalo assigns the cases at their office. You definitely need to use it when emailing or contacting buffalo in any way!

Great info! I will wait for the AOR then before asking them to change his mailing address.

jancath, I contacted them to change my mailing address using the Client ID my sponsor had. You could try that, but if it's not pressing you can wait until you get the B number :)

He is not "visiting" until mid-Sept and we are expecting AOR on snail mail to come sometime after the long weekend.

Very nice spreadsheet, SaugaBoss!

Yes, I recently sent a case-specific email to buffalo, requesting instructions for sending additional information as I had not yet received the B-file number - my file was only transferred 2 weeks ago. I wasn't sure what response I would get necessarily, but figured asking and knowing for sure that I had to wait for the AOR was better than just waiting for it, especially as it is pretty likely that our FBI clearance will expire before we get the AOR and file number from Buffalo.

I got a reply this morning saying that I had to wait to receive a file number to provide any further information, no matter what the circumstances. This was a little frustrating to me, because one of things I wanted to change was a typo in the address on our file in e-CAS - our sponsorship decision got to us ok, but somehow our city name is misspelled, and I think it caused a delay in the mail.

Anyways - yes, you have to wait for the file number from Buffalo to make any changes or additions to your application.

Tuesday is the only day when the e-case is updated?
Are they sending PPR e-mail (or regular mail) any day or just certain days ?

Yes, E-cas is updated once a week (usually Tuesday). Letters I've recieved has led me to believe they also send out mail once a week too but this hasn't been confirmed, just a hunch.

It seems like there were PPRs on here every day of the week last week, so you might get that anytime. My ecas updated on a Tuesday for in process but on a different day for the sponsorship approval, so who knows?!

Good news! We went to the border last Friday to see if I could renew my Visitor's Record and try to get my son another Student Visa (he's 8 and in Grade 4 this year). We had really messed up and after getting his Study Permit the first year in 2007, never went back. So he was in school two years without one. BIG NO NO, possible inadmissibility if they wanted to be harsh. Well, I went in expecting to have my butt handed to me but the IO was an absolute sweetheart. Asked me some questions, asked me about my son not having a study permit for two years. I answered honestly, the school didn't request another one after the first year, so we let it go. All was fine though, she issued him his Permit and gave me another YEAR on my VR!!! She said they were working on my file so she probably wouldn't see us back in there before we got PR. Wow, big weight lifted off our chest! Unfortunately, on the same trip we totalled our car. Things have to balance out I suppose lol The kids were in the car but they were fine, didn't even cry and my son was so jazzed. He was all excited to have been in a car crash...ugh. So yeah...balance. I'm choosing to focus on the AWESOME news and not the bad stuff hehe

They say they only update on Tuesdays, but that tracking serivce says they've seen updates on every possible day.

Wow that sucks, but is good news too! Hope everybody is okay! And you're right it's all about balance. Gotta take the good with the bad! Congrats on the renewal of your VR. How did you do that? I'm afraid I'm going to receive one the next time I 'visit'. I've received two, one for a month's visit, and that second one for only 2 weeks! How long does it take to renew and what's the process because I would like to know just in case I am issued one, especially if it's another short one ie. 2 weeks!

Thanks in advance!

I want my PPR :'(...........I am so so so so disappointed of this wait and wait .............. :'( it's so hardddddddddddddddddddddddddd

I AGREE!! UGH! >:( I'm so tired of waiting and playing the games at the border. Every time I cross to visit they treat me like garbage and
like I don't know what I'm talking about. GRR. It's so frustrating!

What if you go to Buffalo without PPR? Did they leyou in and talk in person with IO ig you have a file in process for 3 month?
Is any chance to obtain the visa in this way?

Great seeing the chart. Amazing to see how many of us there are.

Want to see everybody with a date in the RED column. :-*

I always just go to the Border and say, 'Hey! I need to renew' ;) There's no process, they just look over my papers and give me one. I know you can renew by mail but I've never bothered. I don't want to pay a fee or do any more paperwork so I go to the border.

If you don't want or need any official paperwork/visitor's record, etc, just go for a weekend in Buffalo and return. Usually they won't even send you inside to have to deal with all of that, and you'll get 6 more months unless they say otherwise.
