Good morning,

Wondering if anyone is sitting in the same boat as my husband and I...? We've been waiting just short of 16 months now. I'm Canadian, Husband is US citizen and we applied outland through buffalo.

Submitted Application to Mississaugua September 2011. I was approved as a sponsor November 2011. Application was then transfered to Buffalo and they started processing it January 27, 2012 (so the online application status says). Meds and FBI check was sent with original application and all was in good standing order.

We recieved a letter back February 2012 asking for additional information about a Petty Theft my husband had years ago in Minnesota. We sent the information in registered mail promtly (within a few weeks). We did not recieve anything back after that.

Once Buffalo shut down, we emailed in September 2012 to inquire about our application seeing as it had been 12 months. All they stated is that Ottawa office does have the application and that if they need anything else they will contact us.

Since then.. nothing. I'm just confused as to why applicants who submitted theirs in 2012 AFTER the buffalo office closed are getting approved and we're still waiting after 16 months? Is this normal for anyone else? My husband is now living with me in Canada so I'm working for both of us.
It's just disheartening... every day...

My question is, do I need to fill the Additional Family Information form? I'm the spouse that's being sponsored BTW. I am intending JUST immigrating. I have no one else I intend on immigrating here to Canada, nor do I have children.

Yes, this is for your parents and siblings so that they can ensure you are real, and so are they I at first didn't think we had to, but to my dismay AFTER we sent it, I find out we needed it!

Hi all,

We applied through Buffalo in August 2011. It was transferred to Buffalo on Nov.01/2012.
Our interview was scheduled for June.19 and Buffalo office closed.

our MP inquired in Sep 2012, the file did n't move and again she inquired and they are not sure whether to interview him in USA office or Ottawa. I doubt it will be ottawa. I have been living in Canada since I applied. I have been visiting him every two and an half months to three months. It is been two years for my marriage and I dont think I can do this anymore. So I am deciding to go to him and live with him.

Lets say that we receive a letter in a month or two months (I doubt it I think it can be longer). Our MP said that they will give the date atleast three to four months prior. Can they ask me about my job? I have to leave everything behind. Also I am staying with my mom but she is in Canada just because I am here. She might live to my other siblings.

Can they object? even if i worked here one and an half year.

Can you please advise?

I have also another question. What If i have a baby in states? Do I have to apply for her separately?

A quick update guys - I recieved a request for new medicals (not totally unexpected) on 17th Dec so it seems that everything is now 99% there. I go and take my meds on Wednesday and hopefully everything will be sorted in a couple of months. I's been a long road thats for sure

We got the re-medical request from LA too beginning of Dec. 2012 & it got received by Ottawa last week. We paid extra and sent it by Fedex from Seattle doctor's office. Had sent a case specific to inform LA of Ottawa's receipt last week. Now we are just waiting, and hopefully not for long.

We didn't get medical request yet. Our interview was on June.19 and We applied on August 24, 2011.

Ottawa told us that it's up to LA to decide if interview would be required before they transferred our file to them. Transfer was at the end of Oct. 2012 & was In Process after LA received our file. And then they sent us the re-medical beginning of Dec. 2012 as ours expired around March 2012.
Do you know if your file is in Ottawa or LA? Has your Ecas been changed yet?

Ours came from LA after our file went into In Process end of Nov. 2012.
Our application was filed beginning of June 2011. I hope you will hear some good news soon.

I believe all files from Buffalo got transferred to Ottawa by July 2012. If yours has been there for a long time, I would contact them and find out. Good luck to you too.

My file was also transfers to Ottawa on JULY 7 2012. IT was in process before Buffalo closed. MY ecas says in Process April 9 2012. Donot know where my file is now. Contacted my MP this week he will get back to me next week. I am wondering if you r going to redo ur police certificates as its been over a year they were issued.

1: What is the appro cost of the pregnancy insurance in USA?
2: Can I be on visitor visa there with the insurance? My husband is on F1. Should I go on F2 visa to get the insurance?
3: What does the insurance cover?
4: What are some good companies?
5: I am in Canada now. Should I buy the insurance before going to USA.

What is the cost of delivery if I dont have insurance?
