It looks like the kids & I will be joining hubby (he moved 9/1 back to London and has been staying with his family while we waited to hopefully sell our home - well the house hasn't sold...but we don't care to be apart longer), he secured us a 4bd townhouse and we are moving (provided nothing drastic happens with the house in the next week- 10/10! Yippee! I'm so excited to see hubby again, it's only been 21 days so far and will only be 38 when I do see him again (he will come the 8th).
Now I'm left to packup the rest the house, clean it all and sort out all the transfers of addresses, proeprty management, ect. It'll be a crazy 2 weeks!

Gotta love these 2am tracker updates... Good thing I'm still awake!

"Medical results have been received."

SQUEE! ;D

and thank you CandC2009, kayan and Trish1982 (aka SB ;) ) If they're moving on my file, they HAVE to be doing something with yours too!

Congrats again to JustandDaph and can_usa_97. Let's keep the good vibes flowing!

(and now to sleep before I get any sillier... maybe...) :p

I must say, it feels better to know that your not alone :)

Have you received an ecas update? And if so, does it say anything about medicals? I'm pretty nervous about them not having received mine since the MP told me they are still waiting for the medicals... :S

ooh...another question...Should I get a one-way ticket to fly down to Florida and risk sending red flags with the border officer or get a round trip flight? Of course the one-way ticket is much cheaper...
My husband (Canadian Citizen) has flown with me to the US several times on a one way ticket. Only once did we have to explain our plans and the officer looked at us and said "Sounds complicated..." and sent us on our way.

Having said that he's never had troubles at a US border before. While we didn't have any paperwork to back us up, if you are concerned I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to bring anything (Visa papers, lease agreements, etc.) just in case.

Are you importing a car?

That's funny. You and I continue getting the same updates at the same time. If only that was true for the PPR as well :(

I guess everyone has different experiences. I have always been asked to show a return ticket and last time I went to the US, the border officer called my employer and my landlord to verify my ties to Canada. If I were you, I would buy a one way ticket, but make sure I have all the necessary paperwork to show them that I am tied to Canada (rental agreement or home ownership, letter from employer, bank statements...) and also get a copy of the PPR letter for your husband to show the border guard that your husband is moving to Canada (I would also take a copy of our marriage certificate to prove that we are married). It might be a bit overreacting, but we've learnt that it is better to be safe than sorry.

I will be importing my husband's car as well. Through research, I believe the only port hubs and I can cross through is the Lewiston Bridge in Western NY..someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not sure if we can export his car out of the US on the weekends too..

To be safe, I'll be printing out a copy of all the paperwork/emails we've received from CIC and I will be asking my employer to write me out an employment letter.

Perfect! I was also going to suggest bringing any correspondence in regards to the car export/import to show you are driving back up.

If you are going through NY you are correct - Lewiston is the only bridge you can cross, and they are only open M-F from 8 - 4. I just brought my car through there and it was really pretty simple. Be sure you e-mail them (buffalovinnyoffice @ dhs.gov) at least 72 hours prior to crossing with your name, the year, make and model and VIN. You don't need to submit your title until you pop in to get your export stamp. Seems like each bridge is different!

My husband has been pretty lucky. Not sure if it has something to do with him having grown up in Windsor and being a frequent crosser or what but they've always been easy (touches wood). We really should be better prepared when we travel, but for the past little while with all of my paperwork going through we've spent all our energy worrying about my crossings!

Next Wednesday, barring catastrophe.
HELP! We got my husband's passport back with the visa in it, but I think they made a mistake on his birthday, but I'm not sure because of the way the numbers are set up on the bottom line of the visa.

Is anyone familiar with the numbers at the bottom of the visa? I asked him if the numbers were correct, he said yes, then I booked a plane ticket for next wednesday, but he sent me a pic of the visa and now I'm so worried! Please help!

Hmmmm. Looking at mine now. What I see is the very bottom line consists of my passport no. then a random number, then it says USA followed by my bday YYMMDD and then another random number, then an F and a whole s**load of random numbers.

Does that help?

THANK YOU! *hugs* YES! My husband's birthday is the 2nd, and the random number right after it made it look like they said his birthday was the 23rd. This immigration stuff is nothing but stress at every turn - just when you think it's over...

Thank you so much. I haven't seen my husband in 8 months and 15 days, and in the past 2 years and 13 days we've been married - we've only been together for 5 months of them. I just am so paranoid at this point.

The funny thing is that it was very easy for me to cross to the US when we were dating. I never brought any paperwork with me, just had a return ticket. But once we got married, they've questioned me every time. One time I was help up for 2 hours, almost missing my flight.
It was the complete opposite for my husband. He had a lot of trouble crossing into Canada when we were dating, to the point of getting issued a visitors visa for 3 days and later on being denied entry, but once we got married, he had no problems at all.
