Hey everyone!

One last update from me. My husband landed in Toronto on January 7th. I am so happy to finally start our lives together.

I guess the fun begins all over again, in terms of get SIN cards, health care, ESL, schooling, etc...

Good luck to everyone else!

Bye!

My husband and I have been browsing these forums for well over a year now, and what's sad and also a blessing is that this place has been far more helpful than the actual government site. Just the amount of people who have gone through the process or are in the middle of it just like us... it's a plethora of information. I thank you to all who respond as best you can to peoples' questions and situations. You've helped my husband and I out with both the answers and with the support directed at others. I know we're not alone in this but it feels like we are at times. It feels cruel to keep couples apart for such lengths... and with little to no communication from the immigration offices!

We met on WoW like a few others I've seen here and over the past 3 years we graduated our relationship and were married March 27, 2010. It took ages to get all the clearances, but we finally turned in the application in early August. It plugged along quickly enough until September 22 when Buffalo received it and we've yet to receive any communication since.

Now, the status update lists ~11 months from receipt at Buffalo - up from the 9 month turn around when we applied! I certainly hope it won't take that long seeing as we're already at the 4th month... I just wish they would communicate with a "we haven't forgotten about you!" e-mail or something. Amazon sends out regular e-mails to millions of clients, you're telling me the CIC can't auto-send reminders that we're people too and that we are waiting for them to allow our lives to proceed? :(

Anyway, to all still waiting for a response and to those of you who are lucky enough to already be with your loved ones, I wish you the best!

Hoping to be in Quebec with my hubby before summer,
Tessa

Hey everyone...just wanted to give an update. Still no word on our application (still haven't received the CAIPS notes we ordered before Christmas either). Just heading down to the border right now as my husband's visitor record expires today. I'm very nervous :( Here's hoping they let him back in and for longer than 2 months.

Edit: Everything went alright. Hubby was let back into Canada without a visitor record or passport stamp.. so 6 months! Yay! The border guard also mentioned we should be hearing something soon because he could see our file in process (wonder if he could read the actual notes).

Good luck Kess... I can't WAIT until it's finally over for you guys!

We've just passed 6 months of waiting since our application was submitted.... psychological torture doesn't quite explain the anguish :'(

I can agree to that.

We received our CAIPS notes at the beginning of Feb which I think had been printed when they received our request on Dec 29. It's frustrating that the bring forward date was 1-1-2011 and we're still waiting to hear anything.

Makes you wonder what they're waiting for? Did the CAIPS say when they received the requested docs and when they were matched with your file?

Yeah. The IO noted that they were going to request the court docs and state police cert on Sept 27, also that interview was waived. Then on Sept 30: PS DECISION is "1" (passed), SELECTION DECISION is "4" (waived), this one is the interview code. Also on Sept 30 the IO sent the letter asking for the docs and that interview was waived.

Then Oct 21 they note the docs were received and "Pulling for officer review" (the tracking number showed it was delivered Oct 18). Oct 27 the note is "to officer". This is the last note that is written.

This line is on each page: "paper file sent to CN File BF'd to: CNO on 01-01-2011."

At this point I'm thinking the date this CAIPS record was printed was Dec 29 since that is when Ottawa says they received it, unless the file sat longer than 1-1-2011.

I'm hoping it's just pending a final review. The original IO approved us even knowing of the DUI charge from 98 (note states the FBI was clean). Worst case they are reevaluating after getting the documents :(

Trying to determine if it is worth it to send in another request for notes (would get it in about 6 weeks).

Hey Kess you are not alone...sadly im still waiting too...though it seems to be the Pretoria embassy taking their sweet time in processing the applications. Hopefully well be over this soonest...im feeling so overwhelmed by the silence ahhr.

Keep the faith

Hi guys. :) I’m Quakingaspen from the December/Buffalo threads. We’re making a push right now to get all the Buffalo information updated since they are super slow and bad at communication. If those of you who are going through the Buffalo office could drop by the Buffalo thread and check to make sure the new spreadsheet has your information and that it is up to date, that would be great. Thanks guys! And good luck to everyone that’s still in process.

I don't know if all of you lovely August applicants have heard about it yet or not:

there is a tracking site that keeps all the data nicely organized for all of us waiting. It calculates days you have been waiting and it's really nice to sort. It also gives you all different statistics and it is really useful for all future immigrants so please log onto that page and keep people posted about waiting times etc. You can find the page here:

Yup already know about it and signed up. That website likes to remind me every 30 days that there's been no activity on my account and that I should log in to update the time stamp. *cries*
