Hola ! One day embassy will call you ! I know a girl who did have the same waiting than you married in Cuba in july. Now Havana is calling the one who are waiting since may :) Hang up you are almost there ! You can try cuballama for your long distance calls there 50 cents a minute in a fix telefon or 75 cents a minute on a cell.

and then on E-cas under my Permanent Residence status I saw

We started processing your application on September 23, 2010.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

yet I didnt received my PPR letter on my hand so is it ok with their decision made status?

got hubbys passport back yesterday(friday the 31) Drove down to great falls for the day for new years day, and landed at sweetgrass/coutts border crossing. Fairly painless procedure on the canadian side, a bit of a hassle on the american border crossing, and extra hour and a half added there, but all in all glad to be done :)
 
Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a long time. We're in Canada now (landed on the 9th of December).

My boyfriend has his SIN card and his PR card is on the way. It's our first few nights in our new pad and we're bit like students at the minute; eating KD and sitting on camp chairs in the living room. Hopefully we'll have jobs and be settled in soon!

Got our AOR mailed from Jamaica November 18th!! Any idea how long it takes them to go on from here? Unfortunately there was the big break around Christmas so that will slow it down some. Paid all our fees already so....hopefully soon? Really not liking this living apart thing!!

Abacogrino - congrats on the AOR but WOW on the mailing time! That's ridiculous. As for the PPR, it depends on the country. Some countries ask for PPR early and hold onto it for months. Out of Buffalo it took me about a week with paid envelope next-day both ways.

I landed at Port Huron, Michigan on January 6 at about 5:30pm. My sister and her fiance came with, he drove the massive U-Haul. They never opened it or really cared. I was actually disappointed - I'd organized it so neatly! The guy just said "Are there all your worldly possessions?" "Um, yes?" And at that point cared more about the car my sister's fiance was bringing in temporarily for their visit (and their way home). The lady inside the building when I was filling out my forms was nice, but they weren't very accustomed to landing procedures. She did say mine was really simple which made me smile! She was teaching a couple officers how to do the landing forms. She didn't look at my B4 forms or anything really. The questions were all very straight-forward like "Any criminal record? Ever been denied entry to Canada? Is this the right address? Bringing along any food?" I did have a box of dry goods and I told her. And a few new Christmas presents I hadn't opened. So I hope that brings some peace of mind to anyone anticipating a landing. It's very easy!

Thank you all SO MUCH for all you've given me. This forum has been my strength for over a year and a half, ever since my husband and I were first seperated and I had no one to relate to or anyone to turn to. Thank you isn't enough. Good luck everyone, I'm always thinking of you! I'll still be hanging around every now and again.
