Waiting and wanting/soon:
Kess - very soon :)

So Application was received July 21st,

Sent to Mississauga, however the visa office the forms will be transfered to after im approved as a sponsor is Bogota, Colombia.

Checked the status on the gov website, but nothing comes up yet, most likely in a couple days.

How do you know what day your application was received? Did they email or send a letter?

I tracked the package - I sent my application FedEx and it was signed for by someone in the mailroom at CPC-M.

This does not mean that it is being processed, unfortunately.

I don't expect to hear anything official from CPC-M for at least a month.

I was able to see when it was delivered/accepted thru the mail tracking #.

Well I guess I can join this group. Ours is being picked up July 26! Very nervous and excited. ;D

Does anyone know when we can expect to be able to log in to E-Cas? I tried using the receipt number but it is of course too early!

ALso the expected timelines on the CIC website say 50% of apps filed in Buffalo are done in six months. Does that include the one-month spent in Mississauga?

Happy waiting everyone...

as far as I know, unfortunately the Buffalo processing time does not include the CPC-M processing.

but I'd love for someone else to come along and tell me that I'm wrong....

Yeah Mississauga is a separate processing time.
I was told Friday they were on June 18th.

Unfortunately you are right minna..the processing time in CPC-M is extra from when your file is transfered to Buffalo or Visa Office you have chosen.

Silverbee > you will be able to log in E-cas once they have made the decision of approving or not the sponsorship (ofcourse they will approve it).
If you check on CIC website the procesing time for applications in Canada, following the link to sponsorship applications, it says that they are currently processing all applications received up to June 18 and is taking them 42days to process them.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/canada/process-in.asp#sponsorship

That page is updated constantly and sometimes for what I´ve read on other posts they also process applications received after the date it shows on website...which is good...

So you should give at least a month to hear something from them and log on E-Cas...I know very stressful

:) Good luck everyone!!

Ugh... really hoping that we can get our package in this week. I've been working with my hubby on his forms and he doesn't know if he can fill in all the birthdates and locations of all his half and step siblings. Really don't want to be starting the August thread :(

Kess - we had problems with the half- and step siblings too -- I asked a question on the forum about it. My partner has a bunch of step-siblings that he's not at all close with and that we don't know much about.

We wound up googling their names and asking my partner's sister, who had some of the answers, but not all - some we had to leave blank. We got all their names and birthdates and had to leave one address blank and one 'marriage status' blank, in the end.

We wrote a note to explain why we didn't know the information - and included it with the form. They can't expect everyone who applies to have perfect families where everyone gets along, right?? My partner said - re-reading then note that we sent "man, the immigration officers are going to take pity on me and totally understand why I"m eager to want to move to a new country to get away from my family!!"

Yep we were stumped on siblings too so had to make a bunch of calls. The history part about jobs addresses was a nightmare too,had such a headache after that...in the end we just gave our best guesses.

It's not so much the getting the information that is going to be hard, it's getting it done this week that might not happen. My husband works nights and it just sucks that he might have to put this off until next weekend.

His mom had a "family bible" that kept track of everyone on both sides. She passed away quite a few years ago so his hope is his dad knows where it is.

Thankfully we finished all of the forms last night except the additional family members and IMM5490 Sponsored spouse quistionnaire. After those are done he's going to courier me everything (passport and birth certificate copies and any cards I had sent him) so I can put together the "relationship proof" document in word. Was a very last night last night. Now I have to write an essay for university that's due today. Fun :S
