I just got my AOR from Buffalo in the mail today :)
Feels so much better to know that I'm in their system and have a file number to reference! Next step: Passport Request!!! (I hope) :P

My husband too ;D. Onwards and upwards 8). Let's hope not much longer!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got back from visiting my wife for 3 weeks. The day I arrived in Brazil (July 6) she got the letter stating they started processing her application May 26, 2010 in Sao Paulo. It's very painful leaving her behind every time I visit. Good luck to all of us. I hope she gets the request for the passport soon.

WOW!! I updated the post too soon. Today my wife recieved another letter dated July 23, 2010 asking for her passport to issue the Visa. :P ;D :D

Does anyone know how long it takes after sending the passport?

Wow, congrats! I am jealous.

It depends on the visa office, I think, but it should take a couple of weeks to get the passport back.

As for myself, I have had some "news" from a Canadian senator (friend of the family) who has been calling Buffalo to ask about the status of my application to see if she can help to expedite (she can't). They said, basically, that the background check has been initiated and my revisit date is in early October.
*sigh*
Looks like us April people may have a long wait ahead of us.
Not news at all, really.

WOW congrats nez....that is fantastic news!

Giggles?? :o Guess we won't be breaking out the champagne very soon. :( Oh well, as long as we can vent we can only hope the time passes 8)

Just received an email from the Vienna Embassy.

The subject title from the email said: Passport Request

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. We are missing the following information and/or documentation in your application:

* photocopy of the passport page containing the passport details for you and your dependents each;
* an original Kosovo passport in order that immigrant visa may be affixed in the passport. There must be a blank page in the passport. The passport must be valid beyond your planned date of arrival in Canada

You can drop off your documents IN A SEALED ENVELOPE at the:

International Organization for Migration (IOM)
9 Ismajl Qemajli, Arbëri II
10000 Pristina
Kosovo
Tel.: 038 249 151 or 038 249 042
wich will be forwarded to Vienna for a small fee.

IOM will contact you when your documents are ready to be picked up.

Is this what I think it means??? :D
Just confused as to why they asked for a copy as well as the original when we mailed a copy with his application.

Sounds like you got your Visa...congrats! Just send what they want, even if you feel you had already included it in the application.

Thanks, we are beyond happy! ;D
I just love the wording they choose! Why can't they just say, hey, everything's good, visa's ready, you're on your way to Canada?? lol

I am showing "In Process" for Buffalo - started processing on June 7, 2010. But it does not say anything about Medicals Received. I had the medicals done long before the Application was filed. Do i need to affirmatively do anything to ensure the medicals make their way to BUffalo? Is it a problem if my status is "We began processing..>" but no mention of Medicals??

I'm not sure, beantown. Mine said medicals recieved right away once I got to "in process" status. Did you send the greenish slip from the doctor in with your application?

yep, we sent everything, including the green slip. it would've been sent to Ottawa weeks before we even filed our application, though. i wonder if that makes a difference.

It shouldn't. I had my medical done months before I applied too, so my results would have arrived long before my app did.

I'm not sure what to tell you. I guess just wait at this point and see if they figure it out or ask for a new one.

Don't worry, mine says in process too, but no mention yet of medicals received. My hubby and step son also had their medicals done months before we applied. I don't think everyone gets the medicals rec'd updates on e-cas.
