This has happened to applicants before..
They will call you from the ND phone number Telephone: 91 (11) 4178-2000
Once you say you don have a file number, they will confirm the details and give you your file #

Finally you send the PP with a cover letter like how i did...the only diff is i got the PPR in a email.
Procedure is same.

Oh man, that's painful, we've already waited this long, and now they have issue with our pssport photo, damm that sucks... I'm sure there is an emergency way to make the passport, and not sure but I think it takes about 7 days or something? or is that the takkal scheme? I don't even know what it means, but good luck, Check the their website, tho the site is very ugly, and looks like a grade 1 student has built it.

I am in great trouble here... I got a letter from ND alongwith my passport that my passport is unfit to travel and I should get a new passport... I have and old picture on the passport although its still valid for a long time.... i went to passport office today to apply for passport under tatkal scheme and they said that since my appearance has changed so i can't apply it under tatkal and i will have to apply it under normal procedure. So, i am in big trouble here because in normal procedure, passport office takes about one month for providing the passport. I have the following questions... please try to answer them:

1. for how long is the medical valid?
2. for how long is the PCC valid? My PCC was signed from SSP.
3. how much long validity does one need on passport?

Guys, the COPR we received had 3 copies: 1 original and 2 carbon copies

At the airport, immigration gets the original and 1 carbon copy and you get the 2nd carbon copy (required to get SIN/health cards).

Thanks for the reply. No my passport is valid for more than 1 year from right now. So none of the passport expiry conditions hold valid for me. Picture can be an issue because once one of my cousins was sent back from the airport because his pic was too old and he had to apply for a new passport.

Can you please tell me what do you mean by -"does not matter you already sent one. They will do BC." Do you mean PCC is valid forever and they will definitely do a BC on me now?

And..this is a very rare scenario, they asked you to apply for a new passport as your pic was too old.
Just curious, did your appearance change a lot from what was on the passport?
And, you can only renew your Passport if it expires within one year..you might wanna act on it right away.

@DNT how many days or weeks has it been since your CSE, if it cross week 3 i would ask you to look into the next option of contacting the MP.
And i think we both have the same MP and you will be talking to the same person i spoke to.

I say we will give them until this Wednesday / Thursday and see if they reply... and then we will look for the MP option... and I will need your help
