There's no direct Kerala - TO, he'll have to take another flight somewhere in between... but he will start off in Kerala..

and for the prices I know.. they're sky rocketing

as you know I recently applied for OCI... my name on the Indian Passport was full name... and on my Canadian Passport I had my name as: MY_FRIST_NAME MY_LAST_NAME (on Canadian Passport)
on Indian Passport I had : MY_FirstName MY_FATHER_NAME MY_LastName (I just dropped my middle name)

I wasn't denided the OCI, but I HAD to goto a lawyer and spent about $20 to make some sort of name change affedavit as long as it has that red sticker with a stamp, and they will accept that, because they accepted mine.

I do not see any issue if you go the route of keeping the same name on Indian Passport, then when you get the Canadian Passport... you have the name that will make you happy... and you just spent $20 (to get the affadavit of name change)

It worked in my case.. and I don't see any issue why it won't work for you.

I was thinking abt that option..change the name in the citizenship application...which is very very easy.

But, There is a big problem when she applies for her OCI when her old Indian PP will have her maiden name and the Canadian PP will have my surname.
It is listed for the OCI application if the name does not match the Canadian Docs u provided then its a big issue.
These idiots have screwed everything for NRI's and they screw you more once you renounce your citizenship !

@fprince... so they will issue the OCI sticker in the same name as the CANADIAN passport if you go the same route I did

just talked to mom and she told me abt the ppr..the letter asks to submit police clearance certificate and right of landing fee if not already submitted along with the passport..does it say the same for eveyone.. i ve already paid the fees and the pcc has also been submitted.. my concern is fbi clearance cert as it was issued on 15 feb and the application was submiited at cpc-m on 8 april but received at ND on 5/18..

Hmmm changing a middle name is not that big an issue but the SURNAME is.. These guys always piss me off with stupid requests and stupid notarization EVEN though you submit original.
As you know, its not the canadian govt which is gonna give me a hard time but it is the Indian embassy when she applies for a New PP or OCI with a diff surname from the Canadian docs..
Too early to be thinking abt this, lets see if they can make it much easier down the lane.

Yes the PPR is a standard letter with requesting all 3 ( even though i never had the pleasure of seeing one ;D )

You will be moved to the BLUE zone now...

after you send the passport.. its just gonna take few more weeks and you shall have the PPT back with the shiny stuff on it

Congrats on the PPR Manisha! Yes..it's a stndrd letter that everyone gets...

Your PC should be not more than 3 mnths old when CPC-Missisauga gets ur application. So u r good.

If you want you can attach a sopy of the PC and Receipt and put a note saying u already submitted them.

yea.. thanks.. but the thing is that I am in Canada and have to appear for an exam on 30 june.. so cant send the passport till then.. .. nw i am concerned how this delay would affect the processing of my application..

dont worry .. u ll get one soon..i guess your vo is one of those who would check the app first and then ask for passport.. all the best

Maybe its just because middle of the week? You have to set a date.. the prices are going up each day
