Hi All,

Firstly congrats to fprince on the PPR!!

My E-CAS status has changed to "In Process". My passport had reached ND on 8th of May. E-CAS also says that they started working on my application on 13th of May and Medical results have been received. Does this change in status mean that they will do more backgroud checks or its just that (as I have been seeing on this thread) ND has become more active towards updating the E-CAS and I should expect the visa soon?

OMG OMG OMG..............Just got home from the temple and checked my e-CAS. DECISION MADE

My wife had sent a case specific inquiry 5 days ago.

My timeline is as follows:

Application Filed: February 7, 2011
Sponsorship Approved: March 3, 2011
Delhi received file: March 14, 2011
PP request: March 24, 2011; PP request received: March 30, 2011; Delhi received pp: April 6, 2011
In Process status: March 30, 2011
Decision Made: May 15, 2011

Hello and welcome to this thread, I hope you enjoy your time here, but this is really strange, because you've been in AUS for about 6 years, and Sydney doesn't want to process it for you, that sucks, but I hope the timings for ND for you goes well, and I will add you to our tracking table, let me know when I add you if there are any corrections...

Hi Fellows!!

As I posted in this thread long time ago. Let me go through all of it again. I am permanent resident of Australia (Indian Citizen) and been living here from 6 years. My Wife (Sponsor) is Canadian. My file was going through Sydney VO but today I recieved funny email from VO saying following:

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada, submitted to our office
on 4th April 2011.
Following an initial review of your file it has been determined that we cannot process
your file in Sydney as you do not meet the requirements of Regulations 11(1) which
state:
“Place of application for permanent resident visa
11. (1) An application for a permanent resident visa — other than an application for a
permanent resident visa made under Part 8 — must be made to the immigration office that
serves
(a) the country where the applicant is residing, if the applicant has been lawfully admitted to
that country for a period of at least one year; or
(b) the applicant's country of nationality or, if the applicant is stateless, their country of
habitual residence other than a country in which they are residing without having been
lawfully admitted.”
In light of the above, and in accordance with CIC Operations Manual OP1 5.20, we have
therefore transferred your file this date to the New Delhi in India.
All future correspondence regarding your application should therefore be directed
towards that office. Upon receipt of your file the office in New Delhi, India will be in
further contact with you. Should it be determined that a personal interview is required in
the assessment of your application, you will be required to attend that interview in New
Delhi, India.

I dont mind processing to happen in India as its fast, but i was just confused how come I dont meet above requirements.

Just Saw Ecas and it says "in process"

We received your application for permanent residence on April 5, 2011.

We started processing your application on May 11, 2011.

Medical results have been received.

Any suggestions. how long it will take from here?

Congratulations, this is a good sign, I'm pretty sure you've got approved

just few more days and you'll have your passport with the shiny sticker........

The In process status looks tricky so far...no idea if this means an extended BC for applicants.
How many of you guys have In process and for how long?
Does anyone one have in process before a PPR?
Well LOL my in process is there for 100 days now ..and my medical line is still missing since it disappeared in Feb.

Don't worry things will align in the right directions... we gotta give them time, almost everyone from Feb have seen some sort of actions, and I havent. But I'm hopeful I will..

Does anyone know how often ND update Application status ? ex. once a month, once a week..so on.

Mississauga Center started my app on Application on April 13th, 2011 as status Decision Made

ND received my application as of April 29th, 2011 as status saying APPLICATION RECEIVED

..and now its May 15, 2011..

no answer from ND yet for my hubby in India..

I hope that was the case, but it seems like they didn't do any updates, I don't see any improvements, but future looks friendly, I hope in future they will show us LIVE whats being done to our files... That's when in India each house is linked with fiber optic or better

I hope after the maintenance, the e-CAS will give some meaningful status update. The way it is working now is absolutely useless. For some people status goes straight from "Application Received" to "Decision Made". In some cases they request PP, but the status says application received.

I hope they change these things and lot's good news on Monday.

I hate to see my gujarati friend in such a condition... but send some prayers towards me as welll.. my wife hasn't received the PPR yet

ouch don't scare him, I hope they don't do that to him, but its ND you never know what they;'ve got up their sleeeeves

It should go well. But they may take longer to do BC since you lived in Australia for a long time, you need to be prepared for that (I hope they don't do that though).

Other than that, if your case is straight forward you should be OK. All the best
