But I would think it's understood that most marriages in India are arranged... Doesn't CIC take that into consideration! Unless they are delaying arranged marriage application on purpose to see if anything goes wrong after marriage!fprince said:DrDave, you might have a point here..maybe they dig into the arranged marriage scenario a lot..cos usually we have less time to get to know and get married..
You have paid them a lot, don worry. that is all which is needed for sponsorship.coolananda said:quick question....
I had paid them 1090 $ so they have said in the letter to make all payments.. is any other payment is required............
agreed. Most of the marriages are arranged. and it would be very hard to see one which was arranged 2 years before, and even if it was the case it is very hard for ppl to just be in touch for 2 years before they get married not being physically together..unlike western tradition we wont see a lot of them having kids before marriage either.brin said:But I would think it's understood that most marriages in India are arranged... yup its 1040 for the processing and .. 50 to have the PR card...gagansingh said:@ coolananda
no other payment is required....
btw...i think it is $1040...not $1090....i even called cpc-m to verify this...

I think the documentation of our application is the key...and the simplicity of it for anyone to go through it. Ofcourse if there is a break between engagement and marriage it just sounds more credible....atleast from teh ND perspective and the westerners eye...
I think the other important thing is to have the "status" updated after marriage...with the CRA.. and insurance and such..in my case.. i had my citizenship ceremony scheduled around the time of my marriage.. ofcourse i cudnt attend..I had written a letter explaining this and had my wedding card and tickets sent to the local CIC...my ceremony was scheduled on an alternate date after arrival.. so prolly when they do the cross checking.. these things will show up and firm up the "proof"?
I do like the idea of conditional PR. provided they give it to us rightaway.. like in a day or 2? but having to wait for over 3 months to get the conditional is a little too much...but i cannot deny it does seem to be a reasonable approach to eliminate the "bad guys...ofcourse what are we losing anyways.. our spouse still gets to enjoy the rights and all the other stuff.. soo no biggie...
Cheers,
Sank
