GUYS any idea when Christmas holidays will start at cic ND??????????

They do work during the Christmas. They have holiday only for 2 days that will be Dec 25 and New year.

There is a misconception that they do not work during the entire Christmas week. But it is not true. No one gets a holiday for that long. Yes office work definitely slows down as many of them go on Vacation during this period. But again, the office is not totally closed. On top of that, most of them who are working during this period are in Christmas mood. So work sows down.

The best thing is both 25th and New year are coming on weekends this time.( good for us, but not for them :D) So it should not really affect the work drastically.

Here you go. The list of Holidays at ND office. They are off 2 days - Monday and Tuesday

Well...ppl go on vacation for sure during that time of a year but they only get 3 official holidays as kuku mentioned. I wouldn't expect too much out of them during last two weeks of dec and 1st week of new year. But remember they have a job do to as well and they have managers too who would expect some work at least... ;D

Not possible. No Govt or private office will shutdown their operations for that long. I 100% disagree.

Yes, I will believe that they are short staffed because lot of people will go on vacations, but complete shutdown? nop.

@funky

They can't keep it closed for that long. They do work but at their own pace due to lack of enough staff. So process will slow down for sure but won't shut down totally.

Clarifications:

I work for a gov't funded organization so we follow the schedule of CIC. Since Christmas falls on a Sunday we get December 27 off as well cos Dec 26 is Boxing Day and that's a holiday too and it falls on a Monday. We go back to work on December 28 - 30 and are off again Jan 2, 2012 in lieu of New Years Day which falls on a Sunday. So technically, people take their vacations and lieu time so a lot are not back in the offices until the New years on january 3.

Hope that clarifies matters relating to CIC offices. Same schedule is followed at local visa offices.

From the forum I understand we should have most likely gotten the PPR by now? Any one else from August still waiting for PPR?

How is the PPR sent.. is it via normal post? Is there any way to verify the address and if they have already sent it?

If my wife or I called the ND office, do they give any response back ?

Would love any feedback!

Thanks
