am still here waiting for cic to bring me my visa,its been a long and emotional journey,am tired already,am afraid the visa will come immediatly i start a business and it will be hard to dispose off then
am hoping for the best

you haven't got passport request after the phone interview have you ? Did you order the notes like I suggested ?

I guess third time was a charm. Passport should be delivered today (was able to get an update yesterday from FedEx).

oh ok that was fast then , Dhl had been good for people on here so hopefully they deliver your passport soon. Accra seem to be doing so well. Keep us posted when it get picked up.Thanks for your update.

Hello

I would like to seek your opinion on my visa application process. I reside in Ghana and my wife is in Regina, Canada. She applied for a spousal sponsorship for me in March, 2014. The visa office here in Ghana sent an email stating my visa appears ready and requested that I send them passport and other documents which I did on 30th June, 2014. I got the email from the visa office on the 26th June, 14. On the 7th of July they requested that I fill a new IMM 5669 background and history of applicant form, which I filled and sent it via courier the following. That have acknowledged receipt of what they requested but it's been almost 2 weeks and I haven't heard any word from them. My wife is due for delivery of our first child. She's in her 38th week, so baby can come couple of days from now. Was wondering what to do as I want to be with my wife before she delivers. I thought once they requested for my passports, it was a matter of getting my visa in about a week. Should I send them an email. The online status shows in-process. Need your help. Thanks and hope to hear from you.

Could u paste the passport request email here? It seems a bit early, we also applied in March. But there has been January and February applicants receiving visas so maybe they are working on March now. Hopefully we are next! Anyways I think you should email them to see what's going on. Was the passport request the first correspondence you heard from them since file transfer? When was your file transferred from Missisauga to Accra?
All the best and I hope you can make it to Canada for the birth of your baby. Congrats Edit: to add to that I think you should expect it this week . From what others in the past posted Accra doesn't hold passport for long

Thanks for prompt response. The passport request was a second correspondence. The first correspondence was on April 29th, 2014, thats when they sent the file to Accra from CIC, Canada. The passport request stated that my immigration visa(s) appears ready to be issued, and asked to send my passport via courier thru dhl or vfs. Will most def send them an email.

I think it takes between 2 weeks and 1 month to get back the pp. Congratulations on your pp and the baby.

wow our file was sent around April 30th too so hopefully we hear something from them soon . That's same time as you . Thanks for the update.if I may ask are you and your wife from same country etc? Races ? When your visa is issued they will send you email to send Dhl over to pick it up . Congratulation

thought they asked for additional request from you ? If they did maybe they are still investigating your background etc. some cases are straight coz maybe applicant hasn't lived in any country more than 6 months etc . Hopefully you hear something soon . All the best

No, they didn't ask for additional document but I lived in the UK for over a year. I hope I hear from them soon. Thank you so much.

that's surprising then , I guess cic does not work on first come first serve basis . Maybe there's something making it take a while . Different background checks for example . We look forward to hearing from them soon since they requested passport from a guy who got SA same time as us . hopefully the lords "divine favour " shines on us lol
