In simple words, keep the money in your account until you land in Canada and then do what ever you want

Should be in the account till getting back passport/s with visa stamped. These are the words I quote from a friend PPR request received in April 2012 under the heading Settlement Funds

"[u]Please make sure that you have sufficient available and transferable funds once all the costs associated with leaving for Canada have been paid. You must show proof of funds at the port of entry to Canada; otherwise, you could be refused admission to Canada[/u]".

It means the LVO staff is on Xmas leave as the TCS staff went to the Grossvenor Street but came back as there was no one to collect the goods.

If you have confirmed with TCS then you are right holidays started and I think they re-open office in 2nd week of Jan next year

so should i ask for the return of the shipment as the coureir agent in the UK cannot hold up for more than a week?

That's why I always say TCS sucks. (And use DHL or some better service if u have the option). Coz TCS:
1. They use another courier service to deliver out of pakistan.
2. U cannot track shipment at every single step.
3. This "cannot hold for more than a week" bukwaas (coz they r using another carrier).

I never had these issues with DHL....When I sent my initial application to canada, there was an "ash storm in april 2010 in europe" which resulted in no flights, and my application was held in london for 14 days, but then when the flights started again, my package continued ahead to canada nova scotia, and did not face this "cannot hold for more than one week" bukwaas. (Took 18 days in total from pak to canada).
So guys try n use DHL or some other more reliable service. TCS is only good for shipment within the country (as its a local company). Rest, again, is your choice

P.s: damn, I almost sound like a DHL agent purpose is use ANY service which does not give u trouble later on. And TCS is known for frustrating its international users alot.

Unbelievable, as no one to collect the goods, it is possibility that TCS staff went in odd hours, I think they have only one week holidays.

Xmas holidays are starting from December 21st, i have checked with a relative in the UK. The TCS agent went after 5:00. I have talked to the TCS Helpline which says the agent would make another attempt. Actually, receiving the shipment is the duty of any member of janitorial staff probably.
And if the shipment is required to be returned, charges will be cost. (Cash on deliver).
TCS used the City Link as its agent for international shipments. May someone receive it today!

Regardless of winter breaks, (from mid DEC to early Jan), CHC London will ONLY be closed only on 2 days (25+26 dec) as per their calender :

Telling u...TCS+their carrier, Both suck....

Winter Holidays in canada are finishing on 8th JAN 2013. (Courtesy of canadian friend). So others should expect the 'update rain' after that.....since they might be in office ajkul, but goras go into 'holiday mode' in these winters breaks. If u remember, last year's Dec was quite slow too. They usually wake up in second week of Jan.
