For all forms; i don't think so. If you receive updated docs request by courier or post, then it's obvious to send these by post or courier. But if you receive it as email then u may try, send an email & ask them to advise if hardcopied are required to be sent or not?? If they don't reply then do send hard copies as well.
In my case "Programme Assitant" sent me a specific format to log that missing information (very limited scope), it was not a form but a word document.
