Hi all,

FSW program needs minimum 67 qualifying points out of 100 points and one of the criteria is Education:

Now, my query is that when can we claim the 23 points for "Masters Degree"?

Pls help me to understand this about Master degree points in FSW:
There is a mention of few specific degrees below Master degree, so does it mean that only those applicants having Masters degree in these mentioned fields of study can claim for Masters degree points in FSW selection Factors?

because below wordings are mentioned on cic website for FSW Selection Factors..

1. A 3-year Bachelor + 1-year Masters

2. A 1-Year Master's

3. An MBA

My questions are:


1. Which degree(s) to assess for maximising points?

2. If the last 2-year Master's degree give me the highest 126 points, do I need to take the pain of sending the other 3 for ECA?

3. Is WES the most appropriate body for my case?

4. Do I need to send any Secondary (qualifications completed before these degrees) qualifications for assessment?

Check the equivalency using the WES preliminary equivalency tool.

Input degree number 4 and 5. If any one of those show the Canadian equivalency as "Masters", send the transcripts of that degree.



2. If the last 2-year Master's degree give me the highest 126 points, do I need to take the pain of sending the other 3 for ECA?

You can send transcripts for the degree for which you get a Canadian Equivalency of "Masters" in the tool.

3. Is WES the most appropriate body for my case?

Yes. They process applications very swiftly. I got my evaluation in 8 days.

4. Do I need to send any Secondary (qualifications completed before these degrees) qualifications for assessment?

Not required.

I have two queries for which I need answer. I have applied in Express Entry and Nova Scotia Nominee Program. NSNP has nominated me 2 days ago. However, the problem is that I am getting married in 3rd week of dec-2015. if I accept my nomination then most probably I will get ITA before 3rd week of Dec.

1- If I get ITA before getting married, then can add my spouse in my application in EE?
2- will I have to inform the nova scotia about my marital status after 3rd week of DEc?
3-Can I only change my marital status in EE Profile and sponsor spouse later on when I get PR as preparing my spouse Passport, marriage certificate is very time consuming and takes time.

Kindly assist me in this regard.

Hi everyone! I would like to ask you if we are still qualified to apply in Express Entry, my husband's wp is expiring in December. We don't have idea if his wp is on process now by his employer, but wayback August he was assured that the employer will renew his permit. but unfortunately until now no news from the owner. Do we still have a chance to apply? Thank you everyone for the help.

We got the Ontario email for applying for nomination. I had a few doubts.

1. Work Experience: how many reference letters are required ? Also does one need to add joining letter/ reliving letter ? How many pay slips would need to be sent. Further the employment history includes 2 jobs with the same NOC. Do we need to send joining letters/ reference letters/ pay slips for both Jobs ?

2. Settlement Funds - there would be 1 principal applicant and 1 dependent who would be migrating. But the application guide states that the funds should be enough for even dependents who would not be migrating. Does this mean we need to show enough funds for all the dependents including those who would not be migrating to Canada.

My next question is how does one show enough settlement of funds as the application guide states that the last 6 months back statements submitted should have enough money equivalent to the number of dependents. How does one work arranging the funds and crediting them to the bank ? Will papers of SIP/ Mutual funds work or does everything need to be in available cash in the bank ? I read somewhere on this forum about a gift card, can someone please throw some light on this ?Or are there any other options that can help us.

3. I read on the Ontario website that there is a cap on the base stream applications. I also read on the forum that applications sent now will be processed in Jan 16. Can someone please throw some more light on this as it is confusing.

Further once the application has been sent, when will it get processed and usually how much time does it take. Do all applications get processed ?

3. Both me and and my husband have entered our profiles in the pool, now that one has got the OINP letter of interest and we would be submitting the application, can the other spouse continue with their profile in the pool ?
