Now, if you are already in Canada, you might be able to do that as long as it does not affect your eligibility but if you are outside Canada, you'll need a student visa which might most probably be refused. The reason is simple - student visa is a non-immigrant visa and requires you to leave Canada at the end of the program. Having an active EE profile is just the opposite and it means you are intending to immigrate. On these grounds, your student visa might not be approved.
