Def agree with JenPin and anxiouswife, that every application is different, reviewed by Individual Visa Officers. Each case is treated separately. Also, we never know if we are going to be asked for extra additional documents, even if CIC has already requested them before.

I got my Gcm notes today, can anyone interpret them for me? It'll be a huge help

I am quite sure you will be able to find some threads here, where members are resident experts on GCMS Notes - Also a few members here who might be able to help out - Have you tried going through it by yourself ?

So I applied for my wife on 14th March 2014..
Received my Stage 1 AOR on 17th April, and Sponsorship Approval on 22nd April 2014..
But after that, we've not received ANYTHING from the Abu Dhabi office....
no AOR, no additional documents request.

I notice on the spreadsheet, someone who applied after us and got their sponsorship approval AFTER us, ZZW that is, has gotten stage 2 AOR and additional documents request on 5th August..
ZZW applied almost 2 weeks after us, and got their SA almost a month after us.. we've heard nothing from ADVO.

Should I be concerned? I'm really worried.
ZZW, if you don't mind me asking, did the additional documents request/Stage 2 AOR come to you via email or snailmail/post.??
Please advise..

CIC will request for additional documents only if the information they are seeking has not been submitted with the initial application. Some of the applicants have received their visas without the ADR from CIC so I believe you shouldn't worry about it too much.

Anxiouswife, ZZW, myself and other members of this thread have shared the additional documents requested by ADVO so you if you think you have submitted these documents in your application, then it is unlikely that you will hear from them.

I do know it is frustrating to see no updates from CIC but unfortunately we just have to take it in our stride. I check ECAS, my email and this thread for updates almost a 100 times a day. :

The only concerning part that I would think is , not getting an AOR from ADVO. I know and have heard a lot of cases, where the Sponsor/Applicant do not receive the proper Email correspondence from ADVO.

But I totally agreee with JenPin, that in certain cases they do not request for ADR if everything is in order.

Some applicants have been writing on the forum that CPC-M does not give AOR anymore, directly SA.

Just saying that anything and everything is possible.

If this is the case, what do we do then? How do those people receive correspondence from ADVO then?!
Cause my wife resides in the UAE, and over there, people rarely use snail-mail/post..or even have proper post boxes where they can get mail?!

I would suggest to apply for notes on your application so you can check the status of your application and put your mid at ease.

Believe March2014apply already got the AOR1 and SA by 22nd April and nothing from ADVO.

Apologize, as it wasn't my intention to get you worried March2014apply - Just stating a fact. The best thing to do right now is to order GCMS notes, which will give you some insight as to what is going on with your case.

If I am not mistake you can always email them for an inquiry of your application- just not sure if they are prompt to reply back.

Yep, but the SA comes from Mississauga and not Abu Dhabi..
I just hope that Abu Dhabi also corresponds through email and not post/letter..

Is there anyone here who has a UAE address where ADVO has corresponded with them via post?

And I'm sure the answer is on the forum here somewhere, but where could I get the instructions on how to order the GCMS notes?

It is called the CAIPS or GCMS notes , and it is usually requested by filling in a form and there is a fee associated to it.
I, myself have not used the CAIPS notes before but from what I know (and I could be wrong) the form IMM5563E needs to be filled for the CAIPS notes

You may also need to fill in a Consent form, IMM5744E, if you are requesting information on behalf of someone else.

Please research online, for obtaining CAIPS/GCMS notes before you proceed. The notes do take about 4-6 weeks to process but def useful information. Hope this helps and let us know your updates.

If you stated in your initial application that email is your preferred channel for correspondence then they will email you. It is normal that people who have applied after you have got their AOR or ADR before you. In my case, many who have applied months after me have got their PR visas also. I have just been requested to submit additional docs for the 2nd time 15 days ago...
