Does anyone have any idea how long it takes CEM to return a passport after DM? We are outside of the Philippines and CEM has my wife's passport. We got DM on 17 Oct, but have no idea how long passport return usually takes. Any ideas would be appreciated.
It may take up to a month.... in some cases just a few days,
Manila is working different now, and it is very difficult to predict,
but one month would be a safe guess (it may take longer)

Hi. I have a question regarding documents. Do NBI clearance and live birth certificate still need to be red-ribboned by DFA?

When I check the philippine instructions, I don't see any mention of red ribbons at all.

Also, has anyone tried the NSO online request of documents? when you order a copy of your birth, does it also have the red-ribbon?

thanks in advance! :)

thanks for the reply!

Is this the new rule now? it used to be that all documents have to be brought to the DFA for the red ribbon, seal and stamp.
I checked the Philippine instruction and I also cant find anything about documents to have red ribbon.

So if I order my birth certificate online via NSO, that is enough, right? No more DFA thingie? Same with the NBI clearance?

thanks!

if that is so, then maybe I can still use the one I have which is about 10 years old?

It has 3 pages. the first one is from DFA, the second page is from the office of the president (white paper) and the last page is the live birth certificate which is printed on NSO paper.

Live birth certificate has no expiration right? Only the NBI clerance has a 3-month validity.

what do you think?

From the checklist po.

IDENTITY AND CIVIL STATUS DOCUMENTS
1) For the Philippines
The following original documents are required for you (principal applicant, regardless of age) and for each of your dependent children, if applicable:
•Birth Certificate
•Marriage Certificate
•Death Certificate
•No record of marriage (CENOMAR) or Advisory on marriages
These documents must be issued by the National Statistics Office (NSO) and printed on NSO paper.

yan po required nila.

hello mrs.Cam,

your latest response does not answer my question.

the live birth certificate that I have is about 10 years old and also printed on NSO paper.

Since, there is no expiration imposed on live birth certificate, does that mean I can still use this 10-year old that I still posses?

If it came from NSO and printed on NSO paper, you can still use it.

I have another question.

I am going to apply for my NBI clearance here in Canada. I visited the Philippine embassy website and it only states that, after doing the fingerprinting, I will have to send the form to the Philippines via my representative for filing.

My question is, what am I getting here at the Philippine embassy? Is it already the NBI clearance that I need or should I still wait for something to be sent back to me from the Philippines? If so, which date will appear on my NBI clearance, is it the date when I went to Philippine embassy in Canada or when it has been filed in the Philippines?

I want to know the exact date because I am timing when to get the NBI clearance, as this is only valid for 3 months.

thanks again!!

You're welcome Sis!
And since malapit na expiry ng visa mo (Jan 2015), Im sure they will deliver your passport na in the next few days, wow you will be in Canada sa Christmas with your family! ;D

Would you mind if i will put your timeline dun sa Manila VO spreadsheet? Kasi parang nag iiba na ang trend (IP first bago PPR) and ikaw ata yung unang nag In Process muna bago nag PPR and then na DM na agad after 1 month pagka PPR & para magkabuhay naman ang spreadsheet kasi these past few weeks masyadong kaunti lang ang update :)

Thanks sis. You may add my timeline to the spreadsheet. :D
