No, my passport was issued last February. i am concerned about changing name for what I read about it is that once you are in Canada and you wish to change your maiden name to married name, you will also need to change you're PR card. Its another paper work. Thats the reason why Im collecting ideas. :)

by the way. thanks

You are right! Like me, I did not change my passport to my married name so my PR card is still on my maiden name.

To avoid hassle and another paper work... might as well change your passport now to your married name then send a letter to CIC explaining this and send a copy of your new passport.

But, I would recommend this route if your application just started and not close to PPR.

I assume you applied outland. Once your hubby received the SA and your papers are transferred to CEM that is the time you have to send the passport bio to CEM. You can send it through email together with your/or husband's UCI number so that they can attach it to your file.

I called CIC about this. And the agent said that there is no need to change name cause here in canada it is your choice if u want to keep on using your maiden name or your married name. It wont affect your application as long dun sa marriage cert daw e naka indicate un name na ginamit mo sa application.

Yes it won't really affect the application but of course you want your identification cards all the same right?
Passport, driver's license, bank cards, health card, PR card etc.

So if you're planning to change your name on your passport, change it now! :)

This is just a suggestion :)

We applied with my maiden name in 2010 and did not change my passport so my PR card was issued with my maiden name. Now if I want to change my name to my Married name I have to apply for a new card and it will take 152 calendar days before I receive it.

..kung genuine lht ng docs mo there's nothing to worry about. nag request b sau VO
additional docs aside sa nbi? Spousal sponsorship kba?

any ideas please..

Once your husband got ur Sponsorship approval and your filed been transferred to CEM, your husband will received an email. And it says there that if u have some inquiries and additional documents u can mail to CEM or call or email. ;D
