how long have you been married? sana ganyan din kabilis yung sa min
and dito ba sa manila nag-medical si hubby mo? ikaw lang ba ang nag-ayos ng papers ni hubby or did you hire a lawyer? You mentioned your love story, we did ours too and wrote it in English and it was really long. We indicated there how we met, then we became friends, all our struggles as a couple and till we got married. What do you think is the reason for the fast processing of your application? Was it the completeness and accuracy of the documents you submitted? Sorry, got so many questions for you... Will appreciate your feedback! Thank you and Congrats again
I really am happy for you!
That's great! Thank you again Acel_Custodio and goodluck on your new endeavorAcel_Custodio said:I did it all by myself lol. No lawyers. July 3 last yr kami kinasal.

appleguy 10 inquiry lang po, after you've sent your passport and other requirements to CEM, did CEM call you to pick-up your passport w/ visa OR they sent it through courier(DHL).. Please, thank you.appleguy10 said:It depends on the amount of applications being filed from CEM . . .also, the medical expiration. But most of the time, 10 - 11 months,,yung 1 month remaining is for you to ready yourself para sa visa and flight schedule as well. Basta complete ang application docs, no problem..and comply for everything that CEM ask you to do..

First, you don't need to change your name to your married name to sponsor your spouse.iole said:Hi everyone! I am newbie here. This forum is definitely helpful that's why I decided to open up my situation here. I just need help from you guys regarding my case.
I am a Canadian Permanent Resident and married my boyfriend for 9 years (who is actually my first cousin) in Singapore where cousin marriage is accepted and legal since it is not allowed in our home country -- Philippines.
My questions are:
1. Should we admit in the immigration forms that we are cousins, or should not? Will the immigration be able to find out about it if ever I deny that we are cousins?
2. Can I start processing the sponsorship of my husband without changing my last name to his surname, or is it strongly advisable to change my last name first before starting the sponsorship? How do I change my last name and my civil status?
Thank you so much for those who would be willing to answer my questions. It would be truly appreciated. Please do help me. Thank you so much.
Iay said:Thank you so much Iay for your reply. I've done my research regarding first cousin marriage and yes it is legal and accepted in Canada. I am just worried that the immigration might find out that we are cousins if I don't declare it. And if I do declare that we are cousins it concerns me that they might think we just married for convenience so I could sponsor him.
So there is no need for me to change my last name before starting the processing of his sponsorship? How about my civil status, how do I change it to Married? Any help please. Thank you very much.
