hi, i'll share with u what we did.
my husband only stayed for 21 days only, actually he was supposed to stay for less than that, he just extended it. when i picked him up at NAIA on jan 13 '11, we went straight to canadian embassy to get his legal capacity. we arrived there 1pm, there was no line at all so we were done in 30mins. after that we went straight to binan laguna city hall to apply for the marriage license. we were told that it will be released jan 26 '11 (10 business days). we had our civil wedding on the same day of the release.

please check canadian embassy website coz im not sure if you can get legal capacity everyday so better to check it out first. also, have your marriage cert endorsed para mbilis ang release ng NSO. coz normally, it will take 3mos or so but if its endorsed you can get it in a month or less. when you request for the NSO copy, also request for Advisory on Marriage. try to get at least 2 copies of both coz sometimes CEM will ask again.

btw, never try to get a marriage license without waiting for 10 days coz embassy knows about the 10 day waiting and since your spouse' arrival is reflected in his passport it will create problem.

Hi thanks for the input. My fiance is coming on oct. 22 this year and he'll stay until nov.6 lang po. Problem ko kung makakakuha ba kami ng marriage license kasi we will start processing on the 23rd of oct, since gabi ang dating niya ng 22, the 10th day would fall on nov. 1 and it's holiday here... then and working day would resume na nov. 5 which is monday... The 10 days processing period ba includes the holidays, and sat and sunday... btw sa manila city hall kami kukuha.. thanks so much

Ask ko lng po sa mga nakakaalam kc may nabasa akong blog na pwede daw mag-apply ng marriage license (pa-notarize ung application form) sa Philippine Consulate dito sa Canada then padala ko na lang sa fiancé ko sa Pinas para tumakbo na yung 10-day waiting period doon, para pag-uwi ko ng Pinas availabale na yung marriage license namin. Paki-sagot lang po sa mga nakakaalam. Thanks po!

Hi jadeon, yun po yun sinasabi ko, pwede naman yun isang party lang ang mag ayos ng license niyo, basta naprimahan mo yun form na sya mong ibabalik papuntang pinas, para tumakbo na yun 10 days posting nila, then pagbalik mo saka kayo pipirma dun sa harap ng pinakahead ng LCR ng city para marelease na ang license.. gagawin nio na lang e seminar kung gusto niyo man attendan if kung hindi e pwede naman bayadan..

Tama nester magkakaproblema nga po kami sa pag-apply ng PR nya. Mas maaga na lang ako uuwi ng Pinas para wala nang maging problema.

Pwede po na ayusin ng kabilang party yan license as long as nakapirma ka sa license at pa stampan mo sa consulate jan at ibalik sa pinas, paratumakbo yun 10 days posting ng License bago pa kayo umuwi, paguwi mo pagpunta niyo munisipyo dun nlng kayo magpipirmahan dalawa kasama yun officer na mag approved ng license nio..yun yun kelangan ng personal appearance mo, di ka na need umuwi ng matagal kung yan option na yan, sana nakatulong ako pero 100% sure po ako sa idea na sinabi sayo..ty

PPR- Passport Request (letter yun na ipinadadala ng CEM thru snail mail asking for your passport and additional docs)

Just fill up the IMM1017 form, then magdala ka ng mga passport size pictures mo, sa Comprehensive Pulmonary Clinic ka na magpa medical kasi makukuha mo na at the same day yung copy 2 nung IMM1017 na may pirma na nung DMP (Designated Medical Practitioner) para ma send mo na agad

hello sis When ang kasal ninyo? or kasal naba kayo? or kukuha ka palang nang Licence para magpakasal kayo? if so, mag posting pa yang sila nang 10days. if pede mo silang paki usapan na pede makuha mo agad gawin mo.

Hi sis, Hindi pa, but usually base sa mg a nabasa ko dito eh it takes only a few days bago nil a NA received pp nila, but there were rare cases NA inabot ng 3 weeks hangang 1 month from the day they got dm till the day they received their pp's hopefully by next week ma received ko NA pp's namin I'll let you know then

May tanong lang po sana ako sa inyo. I just recently got my PR card. I'm planning to go back to the Philippines to get married and to sponsor my future husband. The waiting period for the releasing of marriage license in the Philippines is 10 working days. However, I'll be arriving there less than 10 days before our wedding date. I was told to get an Affidavit of Cohabitation in lieu of the marriage contract. Is it advisable to get an Affidavit of Cohabitation instead of the marriage contract? Wouldn't the CIC think that we were common-law partners before I landed? Wouldn't that be a problem when the time comes to sponsor him? I'll appreciate all your feedbacks and comments. Baka magka-problema ako kapag i-sponsor ko na sya.

Oo Nester ikaw na! daig mo pa si google sa dami mong alam..know what? kahit wala sya sa filing ng License niya basta napirmahan niya at dumaan sa consulate dun pede na ayusin ng bf niya dito, LEGAL documents na yun! pa null and void ka pa dyan, there is no such thing as null and void kung dinaan mo sa black and white..parang SPA na yun representative mo lang ang needed to attend! Minsan wag na tayo sumagot sa mga ask ng iba na hindi tayo sure at nagmamarunong lang, imbes makatulong tayo e nakakadagdag lang ng lito..Sabihin mong tama ka, wala na ko paniniwalaan sa forum nato

NOTE**** Ipafile lang.. kailangan lang tumakbo ng 10 posting days ng license..may mga pipirmahan pa sila dalawa pagdating niya dun mismo sa officer ng civil registry at pipirma din yun officer na yun sa license nila saka pa irelease yun..so ano ang mali dun? nandito na sya saka marelease diba? Anyway ok ka naman sa English Nester period! ;D
