hello everyone! this will be a big help pra s mga mag-aapply plang gaya nmin ng husband ko :)

we're planning to submit his completed application forms and proofs this September,
is it possible for my husband to be here in canada this december? haha
xe i'll be giving birth to our first baby this december, and hoping that he'll get here within that month.

we've completed already all the requirements and forms.
i'm jobless right now xe pregnant, i can't work yet. that won't be a big question right? as long as i will attached a letter telling about my condition?

thanks everyone! help. need more ideas about this.
and Godbless.

Hi sis,
Merin mabilis maprocess ang application meron din naman matagal.so it depends on your case.

One process is access ka if ur eligible to sponsor ur husband. If u pass that then ur application will be transferred to manila office.and if luckymaprocess agad nila papers mo. We just have to hope for the best lalo na sa situation mo ngyon.

I hope this helps.
Ingat sis.

A li'l update:

I just got our GCMS notes today, July 25 2012. I sent the request on June 26, 2012.

Doesn't really contain much except that I confirmed that they received my hubby's passport the day after he sent it. Eligibility, security and criminality assessment not started.

What's exciting is the last four pages under NOTES where you can see the "flow" of the process so far, and I'm also glad to see initial screening has been done even if ecas still says "appliaction received".
Also, GCMS were generated on June 28, so nice to know that there is a possibility that this is not the most updated status of our application.

Hello, I got our second GCMS today (not that it matters now ;D ) but I just want to share , might be useful info for some.

Since the last time I received the GCMS (generated 6/28) this time its generated 7/30, Eligibility, security and criminality assessment was not started still. Only thing I see that's new is it looks like the VO requested for copies of IMM1283 (financial eval form) and IMM1344A (SA & Undertaking) from CPC-M, and of course my first GCMS request was also indicated there.

That's it, no other update for 1 whole month, so it looks like whatever assessments they finished and whatever finalization they did on our application was done between July 31 to August 16 when the visa was issued (roughly 3 weeks). What I can conclude from this is that applications can just sit there for months (waiting for results of security check perhaps or the next bring forward date) but once they start working on it it just takes a few weeks to finalize.

I received a passport request from my visa office in SIngapore kaso i need to redo my medical ASAP, the good thing is pwede ko na dito sa Pinas mag re-med kasi andito na ako since June. Any suggestion aling medical clinic ang medjo less hassle and how much the payment.. kelangan ba ng magpa appointment or walk in nalang? Any response will be appreciated...

thanks a lot

hi did they asked u to do ur re-do medical? kac usually they will send u a letter para sa re-do medical

My wife in the Philippines just got a DM from Ecas and proceeded with the visa stamp a couple of days later (yesterday) with her Passport.

Here's the timeline:

February 23, 2012 - Visa was initialized and began its process in CIC Mississauga - CLIENT ID was issued for me (Sponsor)

May 23, 2012 - A Decision was Made regarding my sponsorship to my wife and a letter was supposedly sent out to me about this in my address in Canada.

NO LETTER CAME, even to this date.

June 20, 2012 - Request for RPRF (Right for Permanent Residence Fee) came in the mail in Canada for me (Sponsor) to pay for the fee prior to the processing of visa. Amount: $475 CAD

June 22, 2012 - Paid for RPRF via online and faxed over the receipt to CIC MISSISSAUGA, besides sending the original printed receipt to my wife in the Philippines via scanned email, to be attached when the Passport Request arrives.

June 25, 2012 - Passport Request was sent to my wife's address in the Philippines along with several other required documents Appendix B, etc. by Canadian Embassy Manila (CEM). Client ID was issued to my wife, which was on the written request letter by CEM.

(It took long to send the passport back due to other requirements that she needed to acquire)

July 12, 2012 - Passport was sent to CEM along with other requested documents. (via DHL)

Status for several weeks was simply APPLICATION RECEIVED. That's all.

August 21, 2012 - I (Sponsor) checked my client ID in ecas and it says that my wife's application was then being PROCESSED.

August 28, 2012 - Wife's status changed to Decision Made on her ECAS and that she will be contacted by the office for instructions. No description as to how she was to be contacted, (ie. mail, phone, email, etc.)

August 29, 2012 - Passport arrived with PERMANENT VISA attached to it, along with everything that we had sent to CIC - CANADA in the early stages of February. It also contains instructions as to the seminar needed to take and all other Residency information before exiting the Philippines and upon arrival to Canada. (via DHL)

Her address on her ecas never changed and still is her Philippine address. I never got a Sponsorship approval letter nor anything of that sort. Why? I don't know to this date.

This goes to show you that a lot on what is on the ECAS is unreliable. You must go by the days that are said when the documents are to be sent back or given.

As an advice, if you have sent your passport and you haven't received it for more than 60 days since the date you sent it, your Sponsor has every right to contact the Embassy in the Philippines and/or CIC-Mississauga. How? Email, Phone, Fax, Letter.. Every which way you can so that you can get across to them that they can't keep you from any travels by keeping your passport and that you need to get a proper update as to the status of your sponsorship. Your Sponsor should do this as a citizen of Canada. And I truly believe that they will more likely take them seriously regarding the matter as suppose to the person being sponsored doing it. You will only get the runaround or the "waiting game".

I am with those who have been waiting for months without any updates. It is truly hard to be separated from your loved ones. With this said, the Sponsor must also do his/her best to keep up with the status of the application by contacting the proper offices dealing with the sponsorship.

Another advice is, don't leave any requirement unanswered. Be very detailed and as organized as possible. Otherwise, it will only delay the process.

God works in mysterious ways, but there's always answers to your prayers to get this new hope and life in Canada to its fruition.

As to when she'll be leaving for Canada?.... We've decided for us to spend that ever so beautiful Christmas in the Philippines and the joyous New Year.. so I'll be flying out to the Philippines sometime in September. We go back to Canada after the New Year celebration... as what it should be...... as husband and wife. Together.

Best of luck to all. DON'T LOSE HOPE.

Thank you to this forum.

Hmmm if u're still gonna send it this coming september, that would be impossible na makapunta xia agad dito sa Canada. Pero malay mo rin suwertehin kayo :D If pregnant ka ngayon, try to get a letter from ur OB Gyn and send it with ur application.

Congrats on your wife' s visa.

If I may, I beg to disagree on the statement above. It is expressly stated in the sponsorship approval letter and the passport request letter that they will not respond to requests for a status update if it still falls within processing times as indicated in the website. And as of today that is 9 months.

To quote the sponsorship approval I received:
"status updates on cases are not normally provided unless the processing time for a file is longer than the service standards outlined in the CIC website."

and from the PPR:
"Due to limited resources dedicated to processing the thousands of applications currently in process, we are unable to respond for status updates on your file if they fall within the average processing times"

It has also been said that following up if you are still within processing times could provide more delays in the processing.

Indeed you are one of the few lucky cases. I have also been depressed during the time we were waiting for my hubby's visa. I am from January batch and we just also got DM less than two weeks ago. God knows how much I wanted to contact CIC for any update during those waiting times. But I didnt want to risk it. So I ordered GCMS notes (twice) and from that I was able to see at which stage the application was. For some, eligibility, security and criminality checks take longer, yes, even longer than 60 days, especially with an applicant with travel history. A third party does the security checks for CIC so that could take a while . Hubby's checks were not completed in 60 days and he has no travel history. SO there are really many factors that could delay the processing, and like I said, your case is very lucky.

Congrats again!
